Not So Alone [sasunaru]

"NARUTO STOP THAT!" Sakura yelled at the blonde who was hanging upside down from a branch.

"Don't yell Sakura, my ears are sensitive," Naruto complained and swung himself up right on the branch so he wasn't upside down.

"Why do you two always have to fight," Sasuke groaned with an annoyed eye roll.

"Oh please Sasuke-kun. You fight with Naruto more then anyone else like... ever," Sakura snapped back as she placed a hand on her hip.

"Yes, but at least we don't scream at each other at 6 am," Sasuke replied and put his hands in his pockets. Naruto smiled slightly at the two. He thought of his team as his family since he never had one. Dispite their differences, Naruto know that they would always stick together.

Suddenly, the trio heard a familiar POOF sound and turned to look at the cloud of smoke.

"Yo. We've got a mission, so let's go," Kakashi informed and walked off with the three genin close behind behind. Naruto was too excited about having a mission that he ran ahead of the group.

"Come on guys!" Naruto exclaimed happily.

"Stop running dobe!" Sasuke called out to the blonde, but he couldn't hear them anymore.

"Why is he always so happy?" Sakura asked. Kakashi began to chuckle softly at her question.

"You guys should probably catch up with him before he does something stupid," Kakashi responded, not answering Sakura's question. Sasuke, who was worried the dobe would do something reckless, left to go and find him. Sakura being the desperate bit- sorry, girl she is, followed Sasuke.

Sasuke was looking around for a curtain blonde while Sakura followed him close behind. She stayed some distance back so Sasuke wouldn't realize that she was stalking him.

Suddenly, Sasuke saw the blonde in the distance, but something was off. He saw multiple villagers crowd around Naruto and one man pinned him to a wall. He watched as the man pulled out a kunai and pressed it against Naruto's skin. Sasuke clenched his fists, not liking this situation Naruto was in one bit.

'He better pray Naruto doesn't have a single scratch on his face, or I'll kill them,' Sasuke thought. He suddenly noticed the difference Naruto's expression. It had gone form his usual bright and happy personality, to worried and scared.

Seeing Naruto like that was enough to send Sasuke marching his ass over there to save him. Sasuke felt his sharingan take over his normal black eyes.

The man that was pinning Naruto suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked over and saw Sasuke tapping his shoulder with his sharingan activated. The villager froze in fear as Sasuke stared daggers at him.

Naruto opened his eyes when he didn't feel the kunai pressed against him anymore and saw Sasuke!

Naruto heard him say, "what do you think you're doing?" Naruto noticed that his sharingan was activated.

'Damn. Sasuke must be really mad!' Naruto thought with a drop of sweat rolling down his face. The villager knew what the lone survivor of the Uchiha clan could do, so he backed away from the blonde and ran away with the others. Sasuke watched them run until they were out of sight before deactivating his sharingan.

"Are you ok dobe?" Sasuke asked and placed his hand on Naruto's cheek; where there was a scratch from the kunai. Naruto nodded slightly enjoying the ravens touch.

"Why did he do that?" Sasuke asked staring deeply into Naruto's eyes for answers. 'Why does Sasuke care about me so much?... And why do I like it?' Naruto asked himself. Naruto blushed at seeing how much Sasuke cared and replied with,

"I can't... say. Thank you though, teme. But also, why do you care about me suddenly?" Naruto asked. Sasuke paused and took his hand off of Naruto's cheek.

"I just don't want your weakness to drag us down... dobe," Sasuke replied and smirked. He really knew how to push Naruto's buttons.

"SHUT UP, TEME!" Naruto yelled and tacked the raven. Sasuke's fingers intertwined with Naruto's as they pushed against each others hands. They rolled around on the ground shouting insults at each other. The two couldn't help but blush at their position and hand placement.

"Get off me, usuratonkachi!" Sasuke yelled, feeling his face turn red. 'Why does Naruto make me feel this way? Ugh. This is so annoying,' Sasuke thought while blushing madly. Naruto got up and held a hand out to help the raven up.

"Dobe," Sasuke said grinning. Naruto pouted and replied,

"teme."

Sakura, in the distance, was watching the two. She watched the way Sasuke got mad and protected Naruto. She watched at they play-fought over stupid things. She watched as the two blushed every time they made eye contact.

'The way Sasuke looks at him... That's not the way we would look at someone else,' Sakura thought as she watched the two. She felt a pain in her chest as she saw her teammates look at each other like nobody else before. But surprisingly, she felt a small smile of happiness appeared on her face.

'Just because Sasuke doesn't like me, doesn't mean he can't like Naruto. Also, they would make a cute couple!' Sakura admitted. 'Besides, there are other fish in the sea. And there're also fish that aren't like Sasuke and Naruto...' Sakura thought, thinking of a specific person in mind.

"Hey Sasuke! Naruto! Wait up!" Sakura called out to them as they turned to look at her while she jogged up to them.

"So... what was all that about?" Sakura teased. The two blushed but didn't reply. 'I DON'T like Naruto!' Sasuke yelled at himself. 'Me and that teme!? No way,' Naruto thought to himself, but Kurama heard him.

"I don't know kit, you and that Uchiha had a moment back there. Definitely feeling some sparks," Kurama teased.

'Shut up fox! And even if I did like him, WHICH I DON'T! He wouldn't feel the same,' Naruto said with a bit of sadness in his voice.

"Your joking right? He has half of the villages population basically begging him to marry them! And yet he hasn't shown interest in ANY of them. Open your eyes, kit," Kurama snapped back.

'I don't know. AND I DON'T EVEN LIKE HIM LIKE THAT SO SHUT UP!' Naruto yelled and broke the link between their conversation.

Naruto walked next to his teammates with Kakashi not far behind. He knew what happened even though he hasn't taken his eyes off of his book.
