After an hour or so, Kakashi advised that team seven should take a break from traveling.
"Let's stop here and take a break," Kakashi instructed and sat down under a tree. Sasuke walked to a different tree and placed Naruto down onto the ground as he snored soundly. Seeing his boyfriend's adorable sleeping face caused the raven to blush.
'Look what you do to me, you dobe,' Sasuke thoughts and sighed. He placed his hands in his pockets and sat down next to his sleeping blond.
"Let's make some food," Sakura suggested and rubbed her hands together. Sasuke nodded in agreement.
"Sakura, go collect fire wood and Sasuke, go catch some fish down by the river. Oh, and wake up Naruto so he can join you," Kakashi replied and continued reading. Sasuke walked over and shook the blonde's shoulder slightly.
"Dobe, wake up," Sasuke said as Naruto fluttered his eyes open.
"Where am I?" He asked sleepily.
"We're on our way to Konoha. Come and help me catch fish for food," Sasuke informed and stood up, holding a hand out for Naruto to take. Naruto grabbed Sasuke's hand and lifted himself up.
"Thanks," Naruto thanked and limped over to the river. 'He seems off,' the rest of team seven thought. Sasuke ran to catch up with Naruto and ask his what was bothering him.
"What's wrong?" Sasuke asked now walking next to Naruto.
"Nothing... just a little shaken up I guess," Naruto answered and sighed.
"I don't blame you. Take it easy for today," Sasuke replied and grabbed Naruto's hand. Naruto squeezed it tightly as if he was saying thank you. Once they reached the river, Naruto decided to lighten the mood.
"Whoever catches the most fish, gets to be carried by the loser for the rest of the way home," Naruto suggested and smirked.
"You know damn well I'm going to be carrying you and your hurt leg," Sasuke replied and sighed.
"Yeah, I know," Naruto responded and kissed Sasuke on the cheek.
"3...2...1... GO!" Naruto yelled and ran/limped into the water to catch his fish. Sasuke ran next to him, still blushing from their kiss.
30 mins later
"Ok. I'm done," Sasuke said and flopped onto the ground covered in fish slime, sweat, and water. Naruto laid down next to him in basically the same condition. At least 50 fish laid dead on the ground next to them.
"I'll count my pile, you count yours," Naruto suggested and sat up.
"Deal," Sasuke replied and they began counting their fish. Once they finished they turned to each other and shared their numbers. Naruto had caught only 28 while Sasuke collected 34.
"I win, dobe," Sasuke mocked and smirked.
"Yah yah. Whatever," Naruto replied disappointed at his loss.
"Come on, let's bring these back to camp," Naruto said and the two brought their fish back.
"HOW MANY FISH CAN YOU TWO CATCH!" Kakashi yelled in shock at the amount of fish they had. Sakura scoffed and mumbled, "I could have caught more."
"Probably not," Kakashi replied shrugging at Sakura's comment. She rolled her eyes as Kakashi grabbed the fish and started cooking them, three at a time.
"How much longer until the fish are ready?" Naruto asked impatiently as his stomach growled.
"Half an hour or so," Kakashi answered honestly. Naruto frowned and rested his head on the palm of his hand. Sasuke looked up at the stars and smiled to himself.
"Naruto, wanna go for a walk?" Sasuke asked turning to his blonde.
"Yeah sure!" Naruto replied happily. He wanted to spend time with him, and get his mind of the food, so Sasuke suggesting the walk was perfect. The two walked out into the forest (ik it's always the forest 😭) as they heard Sakura giggling behind them.
"What?" Sasuke asked angrily.
"Nothing. It's just how less then a week ago, you two would have been all nervous and blushy about hanging out, and now look at you two," Sakura replied grinning.
"Oh, come on, Sakura. You would be the same way with Ino... if you can pull her," Naruto replied and continued his walk with Sasuke. They walked further into the dark forest, enjoying every bit of the darkened trees surrounding them. The moon shinned down onto the surrounding land, making it the only current light source.
"The moon is beautiful tonight. Isn't it?" Sasuke asked. Naruto, not understanding the true meaning behind it, stared up to the sky and replied, "Yes it is." Naruto reached out his hand wanting Sasuke to hold it. Sasuke noticed this and grabbed the tan boy's hand happily.
"Aww! That's so cute!" Kurama said as he understood the meaning behind Sasuke's words.
They saw a log laying in the distance and sat down on it. Naruto swung his good leg over one side of the log to face Sasuke.
"You know teme, you still owe me two ramen dates when we get back," Naruto said holding up the number two with his fingers. Sasuke also swung his leg over the side of the log as well to face Naruto.
"Why two? Or are you just that big of a fatass that you need two," Sasuke asked and laughed. Naruto pouted and replied, "one from when we were in the forest back in the land of the waves, and one for when I stepped out of the village."
"Oh yes. I remember that," Sasuke responded as he remembered their talk. Naruto rubbed his tierd eyes and scooted closer to Sasuke, still facing him. He rested his head on Sasukes chest as he listened to the emo's heartbeat. (I'm shocked there was one 💀.) Sasuke wrapped his arms around Naruto's back, supporting him against his chest.
"I want to stay like this forever," Naruto mumbled closing his eyes.
"Me too," Sasuke replied as the two blushed. Sasuke sighed knowing that Kakashi and Sakura will be worried if they stayed out to long.
"We should go back, I bet the food is ready," Sasuke said breaking the comfortable silence.
"I forgot about the food!" Naruto exclaimed and got up. Before Naruto could run off to get his food, Sasuke grabbed his hand and pulled him close to him. Naruto placed his hand on the raven's cheek before gently kissing him on his lips. Sasuke wrapped his arms around Naruto's waist, bring him closer.
The blonde took his hand off of Sasuke's cheek and wrapping both his arms around his neck. Their kiss was identical to the one they shared in the land of the waves, but so much better because Sakura wasn't there to intrude.
They broke away for a minute to catch their breath before Naruto leaned in to kiss his raven once more. After a minute, the two broke away as Sasuke smirked and then laughed.
"What's so funny?" Naruto asked and pouted, still in Sasuke's arms.
"Just reminds me of when we were in the land of the waves," Sasuke answered.
"You mean yesterday?" Naruto asked and smiled. Sasuke smiled back, making Naruto's heart flutter. Naruto felt heat rise to his cheeks when he saw Sasuke smile.
"Ive... never seen you smile before," Naruto admitted as he stared into Sasuke's onyx eyes. Sasuke rolled his eyes and tightened his grip on Naruto's waist.
"You should do it more," Naruto added and smirked. Naruto went on his tippy toes, and once again, pecked Sasuke on the lips before letting him go.
"Let's go back. I'm hungry," Naruto said and grabbed his boyfriend's hand to drag him back to camp.
