23: dreams, memories and bombs

Nat lane Irons, I went home shortly after.. all of that happened, so me and dad were working on our suits together. "I'm suprised you came home so early, recently I've barely been able to get you away from him, wrench" Dad acknowledged, I passed him the wrench I wasn't using. "Ya, well Clark wanted to spend time with Eli, and I only tolerate the boys" I said, Dad chuckled a little as I switched to a screwdriver. "You're to hard on Jonathan and Jordan" he said, I nodded as he passed me, whatever he passed to me. "I know, Jon's okay, but I've hit a rough patch with Jordan, and there's only so much of those two I can take!" I said, sometimes I just fantasise of hitting them. "Then why are you over there all the time?" He asked, I paused and took a breath. "You know why Dad" I said, I went back to working on my suit. "Eli?" He asked, I nodded, I felt his hand on my shoulder. "Are you sure there's nothing there?" He asked, I groaned, walking away. "I know you're just trying to help Dad, but I don't want to talk like that with you" I said, I went back to working on the suit. "I know you'd prefer having these talks with your mother, I do too, but we only have each other" Dad said, I Tensed for a moment. I don't like her being mentioned. "I know dad, but it's Just awkward" I said, I've never felt like I can talk to him like that. "But no, there is nothing going on between me and Eli, we're Just close, best friends" I answered, sometimes it feels like we're more than best friends, but there isn't a word for that. "Okay, well you can invite him over here" dad Said, I laughed, then looked at him. "Oh you're serious" I realised, I chuckled a bit more. "Why is that funny?" He asked, I turned to him, crossing my amrs. "Because if I did that, I wouldn't be allowed to close my door, we'd have to hide the suits and XK, and you would be listening into our talks" I listed, he still doesn't know Eli knows about us, and I'm keeping it that way. "I let you keep your door closed" he said, I raised an Eyebrow. "For like, ten minutes" I said, we couldn't take about anything important after that. "It's just me and Eli need privacy to talk, we mainly talk about his past, and he likes to keep it to himself, so we mainly stay at the farm" I said, I didn't say anything important. "Well you can invite him over Nat, since you're so close, I think I should get to know him" Dad said, I would like that. "that would be nice Dad" I smiled, I went back to working on my suit. "I'm going to take a break for a few minutes" he said, I nodded as he left. I heard the Tv turn on as I zoned out.  "-amn it" he said, I turned around, what's going on? Dad ran over to the suits. "What's happening?" I asked, he's already started to put his on. "Bombings are happening in Metropolis" he answered, BOMBINGS?! That's serious! "I'll-" I started, I turned back to my Suit, but he pulled me away. "No, stay here" he said, what the hell is he talking about?! "Dad! It's bombings! Yo-" I yelled, They need all hands on deck! "Eli was with Clark!" He yelled, I froze. He's right, Eli was with Clark. "I bet he's okay, but he's probably lost about what's happening" said dad, I glared at him. "I know why you brought up Eli, and it worked" I said, I'll be going to find him, instead of helping stop the bombs. "Be safe" I said, where Would Clark Take Eli?

I had gone to the farm, Why? Because I thought maybe if I was where I am with Eli a lot of the time then maybe I could figure out where Clark would take him. "-Oh my god Nat!" Said Jonathan, I turned around to him. "Nat, what are you doing here, in your suit?" He asked, right.. I did not make my presents known. "Um.. Clark and my Dad went to stop bombings in Metropolis, and I'm trying to figure out where he'd take Eli" I answered, But I can't figure out where he is! "Bombings?" Repeated Jordan, guess he was listening in. "Ya, bombings" I answered, I wonder if there's a world without any crazy. Doubt it. "Mum!" Yelled Jordan, he ran off, I glanced at Jonathan. "He's been.. off since dad found out" he sighed, oh. Right. I forgot for a moment. "Ya, course he is" I mumbled, I've been so wrapped up in finding Eli that I forgot about that. "Come on, Relax for a moment" he said, I stayed standing in Eli's room. "He's okay Nat, Dad wouldn't let anything happen to him" he said, that's true, he won't want anything happening to Eli. "But what if.." I sighed, I lent my head against the wall. "what if something happens to him without us near? What if we don't find out.. until it's too late?" I questioned, I glanced at him, he walked into Eli's room. "Was your world really that dangerous?" Jonathan asked, he still hasn't fully wrapped his head around his dad being Evil in a different world. "Yes, But so was Eli's" I said, I stopped leaning, turning to him. "He may of not had Kryptonian overlords, but his world was Just as dangerous" I said, he's shown me that.. not literally, but he's made me know it. "God.." he mumbled, I nodded, and gave a sad chuckle. "did.. did he and dad have a bad life?" He asked, he hasn't asked much about Clark's life, same with Jordan, but I know they want to. "I really shou-" I started, it's not my secret to tell. "Please Nat" he begged, I sighed. I'll barely tell him anything. I nodded. "Ya, they did.." I sighed, that's all I'll say. "Thanks Nat" he sighed, I know that isn't the answer he was hoping for. "Come on, you need a break from.. standing in Eli's room" he said, I suppose he's right. "Okay" I said, we went down the stairs. "Nat you're still here?" Lois asked, she knew I left. "I did actually leave, but I came back, I'm trying to figure out where Clark could of took him" I said, but I just can't! I sat down on the sofa. "Not going to take off the suit?" Asked Jonathan, I already have the helmet off. "No" I said, I'm already Wasting time. "Okay.." he mumbled, I didn't mean to say it badly "sorry, I'm Just... where could Eli be?" I sighed, I need to find him. "The fortress maybe?" Suggested Jordan, I shook my head. "I've thought about that, but I don't think so" I said, Eli wasn't wearing particularly warm clothes, and Clark would get Eli somewhere comfortable quick, and no clothes were taken. "But thanks" I added quickly, he was trying to help, and I've had the same thought. "no problem" he Whispered, I barely caught that. Jonathan started switching through channels. "Since when did you voluntarily watch channels?" Asked Lois, I smriked, almost all the time they are begging for net, prime or Disney on. "I'm looking for the news, or something like the news, Nat said our dad's are facing bombings in Metropolis" he explained, does he seriously not understand how channels work? "Right, I'll find the cha- oh wait you already did" said Lois, she sat down in between the boys. We watched them try and capture Clark's flying, he's moving faster than normal, but I'm still trying to figure out where Eli coul- "Eli?" Asked Jordan, I looked around, and realised he was still looking at the Tv- "Eli!" I yelled, it was him on the TV. "That can't be Eli.. right?" Asked Jonathan, he's wearing the exact thing Eli was! "Why would dad take him to the bombs, or to the top of a building?" He asked, good poi- '"After you left, he took me to Metropolis and... we Just sat on the roof of a building"' that's the building! "Nat that might not be Eli" said Lois, Just as she said that, the screen flickered yellow. His eyes. We looked at each other. "Go" she said, I got up and threw my helmet on. I'm coming Eli.
