chapter eleven—las vegas
About a few hours passed and the truck started to drive. It took a while. Inez actually fell asleep for about ten minutes.
She rested her head on Annabeth's shoulder but Annabeth didn't care she smiled as she did.
Adeline was still up and Grove kept checking above the little window to see if they were close or not.
Inez woke up rubbing her eyes. "Are we there yet..?" She said. Adeline shook her head but she was holding an ethereal. She was trying to see if she would get a signal.
"I've got a signal! Toss the coin!" Adeline said to Percy. Percy took the coin from his pocket and tossed it in the glowing light.
It disappeared. "This will never stop being weird.." Percy said.
Annebth sighed "If you want the god's attention you have to pay for it."
Adeline spoke "Iris.. the goddess of the rainbow. Please accept my offer and show us camp half-blood Chiron's office.
It worked. It turned bright red and they saw Luke??
"Luke?" Percy said confused. He heard them and turned around "Adeline..? Percy? Are you guys okay!?" Adeline nodded "Yeah we're fine but where is Chiron?"
Luke looked at them "Chiron's holding camp together with both hands. Everyone thinks we're going to war, so the cabins are taking sides. Do you guys have good news??"
Adeline nodded once again but Percy spoke "We know who stole the lightning bolt. We ran into Ares and Grover got him to talk.. and realized Ares knew who the there was but was covering for them."
Adeline sighed "And who would cover for Ares?? My father in fact! Definitely not me but.."
"His favorite daughter... Clarisse is the lighting thief!" Luke said. Adeline remembered her notebook. "Annabeth take this!"
Annabeth took the ethereal and Adeline grabbed the notebook from Annabeth's bag.
She started writing to Victoria about Clarisse maybe to stay away from her. "What are you doing?" Percy asked.
"With this notebook, I can communicate with someone far away! I gave the other notebook to Victoria! And she's back at camp with Clarisse." Adeline said still writing in the notebook.
