chapter thirteen—the underworld
Back at camp Victoria opened the notebook and saw what Adeline wrote to her.
Was Clarisse the lighting thief? No way. Victoria knew how Clarisse was but.. would she do that?
I mean she is the daughter of Ares and it's his favorite child so maybe Adeline was right.
Victoria walked outside her cabin and saw Clarisse with other friends from Ares cabin.
"Clarisse! We need to talk now!" Victoria said as she grabbed Clarisse's hand.
With the others, they were waiting for Percy still. "So much happened..." Inez said to Annabeth.
She nodded "Yeah. Nice driving skills even though we could have died." Annabeth said with a soft smile.
"Okay well to be fair... I've never driven before and I just got distracted." Inez said as she stood next to her.
"Distracted by what?" Annabeth said looking at her. Well, Inez didn't wanna tell her that she was distracted by Annabeth smiling at her...
Inez sighed "Just a lot was going on in my head.." Percy came back and explained he knew where to go to get to the Underworld.
They had to go to this store and someone they knew owned it. He was Procrustes. They walked to the store.
Adeline looked at Percy "Glad you're okay. You know after the whole.." Percy interrupted her cause he knew what she meant "Yeah. I'm glad all of us are okay."
Adeline smiled and Inez was behind them she knew everything between them. They just didn't see it themselves.
Like before they were just close to each other.. the invisible string pulled them closer to one another.
No matter what they always end up looking at each other and making each other laugh.
There always helping each other. Percy making sure Adeline is safe and protected.
Whenever she would try and sacrifice herself Percy wouldn't let her he would sacrifice himself for her.
They made it the store and they had an idea. Percy would walk in first and then Annabeth would put on her hat to go invisible if anything.
