You were a highly skilled scout in Levi's squad, had every movement down to the bone when it came to fighting titans. You had certain techniques and tactics that others wouldn't normally be able to do. You were highly flexible and had good agility.

Often, other cadets and scouts would notice your skill an efforts, which is exactly how Levi found you.

<Flashback>

"These are all the cadets, only a few of these actually proved to be useful. Y/n graduated top of her class, excellent and impeccable performance on every aspect and level. Her attitude can sometimes be trouble but obedient for the most part." Kieth Shadis was going through the top 10 graduates.

"Next, Mikasa Ackerman. Almost hard to differentiate Y/n and Mikasa's skill, but since Y/n is older, her tactics and techniques surpass Ackerman's. She also has a tendency to protect a close friend often."

Levi and Erwin hummed in response, both of their eyes trained on you training with the ODM gear. You were smart with your gas, only using it to make your cuts deeper and quickly retreating back to the tree branch before making your way to the next titan dummy.

Levi was as stoic as ever, yet he saw a shimmer of light in your movements, a hope for humanity.

During a mission, you and Levi were sent by Erwin to eradicate a few titans to give the scouts more time with their new expedition upcoming in a few days.

While doing so and without saying words, you and Levi both coordinated each attack with just a firm
nod and look in each others eyes.

He moved swiftly, never failing to notice the detail to his movements. He used his sword to place cuts deep into the titans legs and arms, he was as fast as the wind.

You, on the other hand, technical but elegant. Every move was made with force but your movements angelic and smooth. You used your sword to pierce the titans eyes and sliced their hands that tried to cover their face, putting them out of their misery. You were as smooth and as refreshing as the water.

There was nothing more endearing than the sight of Y/n and Levi Ackerman slowly yet surely falling in love with each other without them knowing it.

The slow and awkward pauses between the two, the quiet stares from across the room, the "accidental" swift touches of their fingers when filling out paper work or handing a pen to the other.

The sight of seeing the two walk through the hallways of HQ together, fingers fidgeting with their clothing and his eyes intently on her and her only, while making sure to nod at everyone who came their way.

The stutters that came out of his mouth when he tried to say something nice and the shade of pink that would follow on both of their faces. He never opened the door for anyone but for her, she never touched a door when he was around.

He was nobody's son, and she was nobody's daughter.

They had each other, they found comfort within each others past. He knew every aspect of her and her habits, and she knew his.

As time passed, she slowly started to realize her feelings and became more anxious about her looks, her words, the way her hair was fixed in a certain way. She made an effort to keep her hair down on their off days, since he made a comment on her beautiful long locks.

He was in denial, but he often found his heart beating quicker when she was close, or when she looked into his eyes. He made sure his hair was extra nice, not a single wrinkle in his clothes, and his boots ever so clean.

It was her who confessed first, in a private garden they shared. The sun was setting and bright colors were painted in the sky. The sun kissed both their faces as they quietly sat next to each other.

"Hey, I-uh, I actually had something I wanted to tell you, Levi." She quietly told him while looking straight into his gray eyes. He put his tea cup down and gave all his attention to you, unknowing of what was to come.

"Yes, Y/n?" He said ever so softly. She was nervous, scared to say the one thing they both wanted to say.

"I enjoy your company," She began to say and then averted her eyes elsewhere. "I- well, over time, I've realized just how much I enjoy your time and effort," She looked down at her clothes and started fidgeting. "Levi, I have grown feelings for you,"

"I don't," She continued. "I'm not sure how to explain it. I have a tingly feeling in my heart for you, and it only happens around you."

He was shocked to say the very least, but knew exactly what she was talking about, as he had that exact same feeling.

Slowly but surely, Levi confessed his feelings not too long after. They often had quite meaningful intimate moments together, as they shared their first kiss under the rooftop of a restaurant, many shared hugs and intertwining of their hands every now and then. They were both new of the idea of romance, yet figured out every disagreement with respect and willingness to cooperate.
