Anyways let's resume 🙂‍↕️

When you found yourself sitting at the roof of HQ, you didn't expect to find your captain making his way up- completely unaware you were there.

The relationship between you two is.. kind of a confusing one, for sure. The main reason being that your captain wasn't well aquatinted with feelings- or to put it more simply, didn't know how to express himself.

Yes, he felt things- hurt, betrayal, guilt- but he always brushed the deeper, more meaningful (not to undermine the trauma he's gone through) ones away, choosing not to dwell on it.

The type of feelings you feel for those around you. Friendship, family, let alone love. He chose not to feel deeply because a long life in the AOT universe isn't guaranteed.

So even though Levi believed these things and he firmly applied them into his life, he knew what he felt for you. He knew he felt something more than just acquaintances and friends, it was hard for him to accept because he told himself he couldn't make a romantic relationship a priority with the life they have now.

You were taking in the wind, appreciating the way it kissed your features when you felt a subtle hint of someone else's presence. You slightly turned to the side, furrowing your brows as to who could be up this late and if you'd get in trouble.

The wind blew your hair into your face, blocking your view of whoever was climbing up. Swiftly moving the hair from your face, you saw a well built man, with pin straight hair and striking blue hues.

Knowing this was a somewhat of a common thing between you two, you eased and rested your shoulders. He wouldn't report you to the Commander, he seemed to enjoy your company. Sometimes it would be comfortable silence, other times you'd be talking and he'd nod his head while listening.

You leaned against the railing of the edge of the building, softly smiling at his entrance while watching him slowly approach you.

"You're awake," you softly pointed out, noticing the wind messing with his freshly washed hair. "You'll catch a cold out here with your wet hair. Wind, cold and wet hair don't mix." You smiled at him as you patted the spot next to you, signaling him to come closer.

He obliged, softly sighing as he made eye contact with you. "I rarely get sick," he said in a monotone voice, finally looking over the distance. "Even if I do manage to get sick, I can take care of myself." He averted his eyes back to you, taking notice of the nightgown you donned tonight.

You playfully shook your head, feigning disappointment. "That won't do, Levi." Softly chuckling, you felt the wind rustling the tree branches as the quietness filling the void.

After a few moments of comfortable silence, you sighed, looking back at your Captain.

"Couldn't sleep again, I assume?" Softly whispering to him, you shifted your body to face him more clearly.

"I presume the same for you, considering you never ate dinner." He countered back, tilting his head towards you as his eyes looked deep into yours. You closed your eyes and smiled, of course he was observant of you.

"You know me too well, don't you?" Softly giggling, you fidgeted with your hands as you kept eye contact with him. He huffed and shook his head in disapproval.

"You idiot.." he sighed once more and hesitantly reached the rail you held onto, attempting to lead you away from the railing. He opened his mouth to speak, then briefly decided against it, just for him to quickly blurt out his thoughts. "I have tea with some crackers in my quarters... if you care to follow."

He turned quickly- attempting to hide his very, very faint but visible blush- and began walking away but still allowing you to catch up to him.

Once you reached his quarters, he opened the door for you, allowing you to walk inside his room. It was neatly organized- of course it was- and his bed perfectly made. Every corner of his room was dirt free, down to the lightbulbs in the lamps he had sitting on his bedside table.

You quietly observed his room, wondering if you're the first person to come in here, if you're the first girl he's ever brought back to his room.

"Oi, are you done looking?" He broke your thoughts, bringing you back to reality. You giggle and nod as you playfully stood tall, placing your hands behind your back.

"I like your room, Captain." You quietly voiced, just loud enough for him to hear. He huffed and turned back to you, leading you to his small desk of an old tea set.

"Sit." He motioned to the chair before turning to the tea set to begin brewing tea. Moments went by- moments of peacefulness and tranquility- between you two. Quiet conversations and subtle gestures of intimacy shared with hands brushing, legs touching and neither moving away.

Before you know it, it was almost four in the morning, and you begin to feel drowsy and sleepy after finishing your tea. Of course he notices- he's ever so observant of you- and decides to make an offer that was an obvious step forward.

"It's getting late.." he began, clearing his throat and looking away- almost in disbelief that he's about to ask something so valiant. "I don't ever use my bed, I sleep on my chair."

You blink, unsure of what he was asking. You furrow your brows, trying to understand his subtle request. "Uh.." you stumble upon your words, blinking rapidly.

"I'm trying to say you should stay, y/n..." he averted his eyes from you to the very interesting speck of dust on his wall. "It's far too late for you to walk back."

"O-oh!" Your eyes widened, which didn't go unnoticed by the man in front of you. He shifted in his spot, immediately regretting his words and feeling guilty for being so abrupt.

"I-I meant you sleep on the bed and I sleep on the chair, damn it-" he ran his hands through his hair in distress.

"No!" Your eyes widened more than they did before. "I mean, not like no as in I decline but-"

"Yeah." He butt in, filling the atmosphere with tension. You swallowed, averting your eyes while fidgeting with your nightgown. When you looked back at him, he still was observing you in every detail, from the stray hair on your face to the way your leg was slightly exposed.

"My bed is through that door, I'll stay here in the office." He moved to his desk, placing papers one side and moving things out of the way for him to rest his head if needed.

You stood quiet, wondering if he was really choosing his desk over the sofa that wasn't too far. When he noticed your stillness, he turned his attention towards you once more.

"Do you need something?" He inquired, his eyes were tired, yet they wouldn't succumb to slumber.

Wanting to thank him for his gratitude and hospitality, you build up the courage to walk closer to him as you shook your head in response, causing him to raise a brow in response as you made your way to him.

When you made it to him, you took a deep breath, giving him a soft and warm smile. "Thank you for allowing me to stay here," you begin, swiftly making your way to his cheek, planting a peck. "Goodnight, my dear Levi."

He immediately stiffened, pupils blown wide and mouth slightly agape. The words that were on the tip of his tongue couldn't be said, but his eyes conveyed everything he wanted to say.

It's safe to say, the direction of your newfound feelings for each other deepened further after this, and Levi- admittedly stubborn about it- began accepting romance. A romance specifically from you, and you only.
