A/N: I really like this chapter. :)

The next day Lilith goes to the forest at 8 am. She was to excited to wait until later.

When she gets to the forest, Loki is already there.

"You're here." Loki says when she comes into view.

"What happened to 'hi', 'hello', and 'nice to see you'?" Lilith says jokingly.

Loki laughs at the joke and she walks over and sits down next to him.

They sit in silence for a while, not knowing what to say to each other.

Suddenly Loki says something. "Oh! That reminds me." He puts his hand behind him and grabs a medium sized box.

Lilith looks at him puzzled. "What's that?"

"Open it." He says, handing the box to her.

She takes it and opens it. Inside, there's a brand new dress. It's made of soft lavender fabric and there are white flowers scattered at the end of the dress along with the waist band and neckline.

"I know it's not much but—"

"Are you kidding me?!? This is beautiful! Thank you!" She wraps her arms around him in a tight hug.

Loki is taken aback by the sudden gesture but he eventually hugs her back.

Lilith pulls away after a few seconds and they stare into each others eyes for a while, not knowing how to continue the conversation.

Loki clears his throat. "I guess I should go to my lessons before my father gets mad."

Lilith nods, cursing herself in her head for not continuing the conversation with him. "Ok then. Bye."

"Bye." Loki stands up and starts to walk away.

"Oh wait!" She calls. "I want to thank you again for the dress. It is gorgeous."

"It's the least I can do." Loki smiles as he continues to walk away.

                                                            Eight Years later

Everyday for 8 years, they come to the same forest, sit on the same log and hang out.

Today, Loki has something very important to tell Lilith.

Loki walks out of the castle and to the same spot they always meet up in.

Lilith is already sitting there, wearing the necklace that he got her for her 16 birthday.

"Loki!" She jumps up and hugs him. He returns the hug but she can tell that something is bothering him.

She pulls away and studies his face. "What's wrong? Did you stab Thor again?"

Loki chuckles. "No. It's something more...serious." Lilith's face turns to one of concern.

"I have to get married." Loki finally says.

"To who?" She presses.

"Astrid."

"Astrid? Like, Astrid of Vanaheim?"

He sighs. "Yep. Apparently her father said that he would give Odin a bunch of gold if he let Astrid marry one of his sons. Of course, not wanting to marrying off Thor, he chose me."

Lilith realizes why he is telling her this "Wait are you leaving Asgard?!?"

"What? no! Astrid is coming to Asgard. I was telling you this because I most likely won't be able to see you as often."

"Oh. Well, we have kept our hang outs a secret from our parents for 8 years, what's one more person?" She jokes, trying to lighten the mood.

Loki tries to laugh but just can't bring himself to. They stand in an awkward silence for a while before Loki finally says something.

"I better get going." He says, not looking her in the eyes.

"Oh ok...Bye." He turns and walks back to the palace and she walks back to her cottage.

"I wish it was her I was marring..." Loki thinks as he walks down the halls to his chambers. "But that is just a wish that will never come true."

"I wish it was me marring him..." Lilith thinks as she walks into her room and sits on her bed. "But that's just a dream that will never happen."
