"jisung you've got to be kidding right?" He asked, giggling softly but when he realised the other boy was staying silent he stopped. "oh... jisung." he hugged the boy, feeling his heart beat faster at the thought of chenle. "is that why you went to his house?"
"i don't know jen it's just.. i just want to be around him. I haven't even thought about it properly." He spoke, arms wrapped around jenos neck. "i haven't felt like this since.." since his tiny crush on jeno when they first met.
"i know ji." Jeno nodded as he patted jisungs back. "do you want to do anything about it though? you know he's straight right?"
jisung hadn't even thought of it like that. He was forming a crush on a most likely straight, heavily religious man that was at least somewhat homophobic. He buried his face into Jenos neck, feeling the overwhelming need to cry wave over him.
"hyung." He sniffled. "what do i do?" He looked at jenos neck moving as he breathed.
"well i don't think there's much you can do ji, you just have to wait and watch it play it out." He frowned, he hated seeing jisungs like this. "but i can tell you that you're staying at my house tonight and we're going to have a movie marathon." He smiled, lifting the atmosphere. "would you like hyung to order pizza too?" Jisung nodded and the two boys stood up.
They walked back to Jeno's house, jisung clinging to Jenos arm as they moved.
~
It was the next week, monday to be exact. Jisung hadn't heard from chenle since the accident but that was expected.
Jeno had gone home early as, the stupid dog that he is, he had hurt himself playing basketball at their first break. Nari had to take him home, dragging him with his arm draped over her shoulders. Jisung felt horrible for not helping, but jeno insisted that he stayed at school.
Jisung was all alone now, sat alone, eating alone at the cafeteria. He saw two guys sat in the corner at the table, giggling and chatting between each other. It took him a moment to realise it was Haechan, the guy he had met in class.
He smiled as soon as he saw him, hyuck returning the glance and smile and gestured him to join the pair.
"hi jisung!!" He spoke, looking to to the boy next to him. "oh have you two met yet?" He chuckled to himself as jisungs shook his head.
"hyuck i can't believe you didn't introduce me- im mark. Mark Lee.. uh im that transfer from canada." He smiled awkwardly at jisung, rubbing the back of his neck.
"ahhh haechan.. this is the canadian you mentioned?" Jisung giggled, placing down his bag and in front of the two. "hi mark! i'm jisung."
"oh so you've been talking about me hyuck?" mark looked smug, chuckling deeply. "it's nice to meet you jisung anyways." He smiled welcoming.
"of course you too! Jeno hyung has gone home i'm not sure if you've heard.." He giggled, conversing more with the other guys.
Jisung felt like he was being watched, something about having his back to the whole room was making his heart beat.
"jisung." He heard a slight whisper behind him speak, turning his head to see no other than the person he wanted to avoid.
Zhong chenle.
"i'm-i- jisung can we talk?" He spoke quietly, as if something was holding his tongue.
Haechan and mark were both confused, of course they had no idea what happened previously but the tense feeling of the room spoke to them.
Jisung shook his head, going back to eating his food. He didn't even keep eye contact with chenle, turning his back to him.
"please.." Chenle whispered, sending a weird feeling thought jisung. He didn't reply, instead standing and slinging his bag over his shoulder, saying a quick bye to the other boys at the table before leaving.
Chenle wasn't going to give up that easy, storming after the boy as he walked through the halls.
"look jisung i tried to stop him? please don't be mad at me please.. i feel so guilty for what he did."
Jisung stopped in his tracks, turning around to look down at chenle. He sighed quickly and rubbed his temples.
All he could think to do was hug chenle, his hands holding chenles waist as he bent over slightly. "don't feel guilty okay? i'm glad you tried." He spoke, about to pull away from the hug when chenle wrapped his arms around his neck.
"i'm so sorry jisung.." He sniffled
"no crying. You didn't do anything." Jisung interrupted, pulling back as chenle moved his hands to his face, inspecting his face and lifting up jisungs eyepatch to check the bruise."he didn't mark you?" Jisung shook his head. "but i did.." Jisung stayed silent.
It was taking everything in him not to lean down and kiss chenle, he wanted to shut him up so bad, press kisses into his stupid thoughts.
instead jisung pulled chenles hands off his face, holding one tightly. "and i told you i forgive you didn't i? stop being stupid chenle. we're friends now right?"
ouch that hurt jisung to say.
"yeah i guess.. i just feel so horrible about everything jisung. I can't look at you without regretting who i was. Who my parents still are. I don't want to be like them."
"and you're not like them chenle." Jisung smiled, noticing a couple footsteps head there way.
The halls were silent but the squeak of a shoe could be heard from miles away. Jisung let go of chenle, standing beside him.
"we should head to class." the taller boy spoke to which the shorter nodded.
