Chenle stared at the boy in his arms, sniffling as he rested his head on jisung. The boy felt so warm, making chenles heart beat faster.

"i'm so sorry chenle.. i wanted it to land on-" Jisung slurred, hiding his face in the crook of chenles neck.

"i know ji." He spoke, stroking the boys back gently. "me too." His eyes were still wet with tears, the comfort from jisungs tight hug calming him.

Jisung pulled away, looking into chenles eyes again, loving the colour of them as they glistened. "don't cry lele." He frowned. "i don't like jeno like that."

Chenle nodded, wiping his eyes. "oh so you like me?" The boy joked, holding jisung close.

Jisung stayed silent, his cheeks turning a deep shade of red.

The two boys stood in that bathroom for a while, doing nothing but holding each other and feeling the others warmth. Jisungs hands held chenles waist so tightly making sure he felt secure.

"why can't we be like this all the time?" Jisung spoke, getting so close to kissing the skin on chenles shoulders.

Chenle stood there, thinking long and hard on how to reply. Of course he liked jisung, he'd figured that out by now. But how on earth would they even work with his family situation. A couple more tears fell out of his eyes, staining jisungs shirt.

"oh jisung." He sniffled. "i wish you were a girl."

The statement made jisungs heart drop, breathing heavily as he pulled away again, locking eyes with the shorter boy. "you.. huh?"

Jisungs eyes stayed on the other boy, watching as he wiped away the tears forming in his eyes.

"i just... i wish my parents weren't the way they are. I wish i could be the real me without them hating me for it." Chenle sniffled, reaching out for jisung to hold him.

"i like you chenle." Jisung spoke, holding the other boy close to his chest and pressing a kiss into his head to distract him.

Without hesitation, the boy replied whilst looking up at the latter. "i like you too jisung.. way too much." He giggled.

The taller smiled, rubbing his fingers through chenles hair. He looked into the others eyes for a while, watching as they glistened from his remaining tears.

Just as jisung was going to kiss the boy, a knock rang at the door. The two boys turned to the sound.

"ji? is everything okay?" it was Jeno.

Jisung looked to chenle, smiling softly and replying to jenos worried voice.

"all good jeno, give us a moment?" As he spoke, jisung wiped the tears from chenles eyes for one last time. He waited until he could hear jeno's footsteps until he spoke again. "do you think.. uh.. you're gay?"

Chenle chuckled. "isn't that a bit obvious ji?" He took a deep breath. "the past couple of weeks i realised why i hated you before. I wasn't disgusted by you i was just.. envious of you." He blushed.

Jisung was taken aback, remembering how chenle used to be at the start of the semester. He really couldn't believe he would be standing here sympathising with the boy that used to bully him.

"lele.. you wanted to be free?" He spoke, stroking the shorter boys hair again, pushing the strands out of his face as he nodded.

"i wanted to be free. I wanted my family to support me like your mom does. I don't even know how to tell them."

"you don't have to chenle." Jisung spoke in a quiet tone. "not unless you're comfortable and safe."

chenle nodded. "thank you jisung, i don't know what id do without you."

That sentence rushed a weird feeling through jisung, making him want to giggle and kick his legs from excitement. Instead he kept it cool, taking chenles hand into his own and turning toward the door.

"how about we get back to your party, birthday boy?" Jisung chuckled as he looked into chenles pretty eyes.

"i guess the birthday boy is required for the birthday party... I will go as long as i've got my birthday wish beside me." Chenle ruffled jisungs hair before pulling him out of the bathroom.
