"jisung.. i hate to be honest but you can't make him be something he's not." Jeno sighed.
Jisung had buried his face into jenos pillows, kicking his legs. He was mad at himself for his romantic interest.
He had been freaking out in jenos room for the past couples of ours, ranting to him some of the things that came to his mine when he thought about chenle. The way he liked his smile, the way he acted so soft when it was just the two of them alone.
He thought chenle had changed as they hung out more, maybe jisung had an impact on his ways.
Jeno sat on the edge of the bed, rolling his eyes at everything Jisung would gawk over. Of course he was trying to be supportive and a nice hyung, but no matter how chenle was according to jisung he couldn't shift the awful memory of that first fight and the awful things chenle had said.
Jisung sprung up from the bed, hearing his text tone. Of course it wouldn't be jeno, he was sat beside him so there was only one other possible person. Chenle. He opened it quickly and gasped.
WED 18:33
chenle:
chenle: hi ji
i'm at church rn
i miss you"JENO LOOK AT HIM." Jisung turned his phone to show the other boy.
"he's quite literally praising the lord now and ur drooling over him." Jeno laughed.
Jisung hadn't even read the messages below, his eyes stuck on the picture of the boy. When he eventually did see the words he blushed. Of course they were friends, friends miss each other.
WED 18:37
jisung: hi!
i'm at jeno's (my samoyed)
lmaoo
i didn't know you had a dog!!chenle: oh did i not tell you???
her name is Daegal <3"JENO. JENO?!!!!" jisung sprung up, showing jeno the message. "heart! A HEART!"
"you're delusional and are falling for a straight man." He spoke, typing on his phone. He was probably messaging Nari.
Jisung pouted, looking back to the screen and letting out a tiny screech.
WED 18:40
chenle:
Chenle: It's so dark already :(
are you walking home?
be careful if you are jiJisung giggled, looking at the time and realising he should probably head home soon.
Jisung: yeah i have to :(
chenle: do you want me to meet you?
i don't want you alonejisung: you don't have to i'm a big boy
lmaochenle: but i want to jisung
i want to make sure you get home safe
meet me at the river yeah?
that's near jenos right?jisungs: mhm i'll be there in 5
~
Jeno had told him it was stupid to meet chenle. But what could he do? leave chenle out by that river alone. He couldn't.
Jisung looked up at the gaps of the moonlight shining through the trees by the river. He couldn't see chenle, hoping he hadn't stood him up, until he heard a familiar voice.
"jisung!" Chenle yelled, waving his free hands in the air. He had Daegal on a leash in his other hand, she was sat nicely waiting for jisung.
He strolled over, hands in his pockets as he smiled at chenle. "was uh church okay?" He asked, making conversation.
"oh yeah it was fine, my dad had a long speech about loyalty which was pretty boring to be honest." He smiled at jisung, slipping his arm into the others and linking them tight like a chain.
Jisung blushed, blaming it on the cold weather and the fact he'd forgotten his scarf that morning. He was the closest he'd ever been to chenle, being able to feel his heart beat and his breath hitch as he got colder.
Chenle on the other hand didn't know where he got the confidence to do such a thing, pulling along his dog as they started to walk. "is it this way?" He tried to point, the leash getting caught on his hands.
Jisung shook his head, moving chenles point to the correct direction. "that way." He chuckled lowly.
The two boys smiled at each other, eye contact lingering for a moment before they both looked away flustered.
Daegal followed the two boys as they walked through the neighbourhood. It definitely wasn't as nice as chenles so jisung was a little anxious showing the around. He just assumed chenle wasn't a snob like that, or at least he hoped.
Chenle stopped a little after jisungs, the porch lights of his house. "this is mine." He smiled, looking over to chenles reaction.
He was expecting a raised eyebrow or a snobby smirk but in reality chenle had a smile planted across his lips. "it's so cute jisungs! I wish my house was like this."
"yeah well it's not the biggest.. it's only me and my mom at the moment so..." He smiled, happy with chenles comments.
Chenle checked his watch for the time, looking at jisungs for a moment. "i wouldve invited you in if you didn't have Daegal." jisung spoke, the puppy tilting her head as he spoke.
"maybe tomorrow after school?" Chenle asked, smiling lightly.
"oh but your parents chenle?"
"they have work jisung. And if they didn't i would still make up an excuse to see you." That made jisung feel giddy, smiling embarrassingly wide.
"well if.. if you insist!" Jisung joked, the boy still smiling with his whole face.
Chenle nodded, pulling his arm from jisungs. "i'll see you at school ji!"
"wait how are you getting home? don't walk in the dark chenle." Jisung frowned.
"don't worry, i'll call a cab. You go on inside, it's cold out here," Jisungs nodded, obeying chenles words. He first gave the dog a pet and hurried inside.
"bye lele!" He shouted, closing the front door.
Jisung sat by his window, making sure chenle got his taxi home.
