The morning had started off weird.
Jisung hadn't had a morning text from jeno eventhough it showed the boy was active. It was a school morning they'd always walk with each other, Jisung has just assumed that wasn't going to be the case for the time being.
MON 6:40
chenle: Morning Ji
sleep okay?He supposed the day couldn't go as badly as his mind suspected. Chenle had messaged instead of Jeno. He fixed his uniform before messaging back a selfie.
jisung:
Jisung: sleepy!
Chenle: oh-
omg you're so cute jisungThe comment made jisungs cheeks flush, he was just about to head out the door, how could chenle distract him like that?! He had to admit he loved it though.
Jisung rubbed his sleepy eyes, walking out into the icy weather. It was winter soon, the trees would no longer have that earthy smell he liked so much, no more crunchy leaves he could pounce onto.
It was also quiet, too quiet. Usually Jeno would be making a ruckus but he didn't want to see Jisung. It hurt, crushed him, that his best friend of so many years couldn't even bring himself to walk to school with the other. Jisung shrugged, pulling his sweater down over his hands.
Chenle was early at school, sat in a practice room with his hands already strumming his guitar. He was early because he wanted to practice... but he also wanted to be early to see jisung before class.
MON 7:01
jisung: are you already at school??
i'm impressed lele!chenle: mhm!
im in the practice room babyHe would have to get used to the pretty pet names. Every single one sent butterflies to his stomach.
The practice room felt so quiet this morning. Jisung couldn't help but smile at chenle, watching his hands glide along the strings of his guitar. He started to play, strumming each chord like his life depended on it.
"Do you think you'd want to be a musician lele?" Jisung spoke, inching closer to chenle. He hadn't really thought about it before, he assumed his parents wouldn't approve of that career choice.
"maybe? i don't really know what i want to do after i graduate. My parents are probably going to send me to some college i have no interest in." Jisung nodded.
"oh i'm sorry i left out date early... i was just so scared for jeno and-"
"jisung." Chenle held the boys cheek, focussing on his eyes. He stayed there for a moment, jisungs heavy breath hitting his hand. It was the perfect moment, he just had to sink forward, looking into his sparkly eyes.
Jisungs breath was heavy, he knew exactly what was coming but he wasn't sure that he was ready, of course he was ready! it was all he'd wanted and dreamed about. He was oh so scared.
Chenle tucked jisungs hair behind his ears, placing a kiss on jisungs cheek. "don't worry about it. I got to spend time with you didnt i?" He spoke softly, staring at jisungs lips as they quivered.
Jisung held Chenle by his collar, pulling him closer to guide him. He knew what he wanted but he was way too scared to mutter it under his breath. Chenles hands made their way into jisungs hair, scrunching and holding his head comfortably.
Chenle leaned over his guitar, placing a gentle kiss on Jisungs lips. He didn't overthink it, he wanted it to be like this, calm and sensitive.
Of course Jisung kissed him back, as soft as he could, like chenle was a fragile porcelain ready to crack. It felt natural, easy, like their lips were made for each other.
Happy.
Happy is all jisung felt, the warm joyful feeling in his chest. He forgot about jeno, he forgot about Nari. It was only Chenle on his mind now.
After a couple of soft kisses the school bell rang, separating jisung and chenle into different classes.
~
After class jisung searched for Nari. He wanted to explain everything from his view, share what actually happened that night.
She was sat outside school on a bench, chatting with some other girls. Jisung felt horrible to intrude but he didn't want this stupid drama to continue any longer.
"hey nari uhh.. could we talk?" All her friends turned to stare, a couple rolling their eyes like teenage girls do. Nari just nodded, shuffling away from the other two girls for some privacy.
"go ahead. Talk jisung." she spoke bluntly, crossing her arms as Jisung fidgeted.
"look. i know you know the story and i just hate how you and Jeno are right now. He's really upset, Nari, he won't even talk to me."
She couldn't look Jisung in the eyes, shuffling her feet.
"Look i'm not telling you that you should get back together and be very happy at the click of a button. But please don't leave jeno in the dark."
"i don't blame jeno. I blame you. I know how you've always looked at him! i'm not stupid jisung! You can't just act like you have a crush on Chenle when i know exactly what's going on."
"What???" Jisungs voice got louder. "Are you serious right now?"
"Yes i'm serious. You're pretending to like that Zhong Chenle because you can't get over Jeno. It's true isn't it?" she almost spat at him.
Jisungs was in awe, gobsmacked. "it's not."
"it is too! You can't stay away from jeno! You've even kissed him! I bet you haven't kissed chen-"
"i HAVE kissed Chenle." Jisung yelled in her face. "Stop butting into other people's business. I came here to apologise."
It felt like the whole school had heard him, everyone secretly looking in the direction of the arguement.
"i don't care anymore. Think what you want." Jisung ended it, walking out of the school. He was rushing, too angry to think straight. He usually wouldn't be so worked up, staying quiet when confrontation was involved. He felt way too control by his love for Chenle.
He sat by the river, the same bench him and chenle sat on the day before. He watched the sun slowly go down, hoping the nice view would calm him.
