It was another nice warm sunny day here in District Four. Although it was only going to get warmer as the day progressed.

A girl with hair as white as snow was currently sitting on the beach next to her older brother as he was sketching some dolphins playing in the distance. Gwyneira thought that it was a sweet sight, how the dolphins would jump out of the water and splash each other.

"You know, you can go swimming," Percy told his seven year old sister with a grin.

"I know, I just didn't want to accidentally ruin your picture," Gwyneira muttered unsure as she gestured to her brothers sketch.

"You could never ruin anything, Gwyn," Percy comforted his little sister, but he also knew their was another reason why she was being cautious about leaving him.

"Okay, Shawty, what's up?" Percy asked his sister taking note of her discomfort.

"Just thinking is all," Gwyneira responded.

Yeah, Percy definitely knew now that something was going on with her. Firstly because she would already be in the water. Secondly she would have argued about him basically calling her short as he has the tendency to tease her for her height.

"What are you thinking about that has you so . . . not you?" Percy asked his sister, causing her to chuckle slightly under her breath.

"In a years time, you'll be getting your name put into the reaping bowl. That scares me," Gwyneira muttered as she leant against her brother.

"Oh, sis. I promise you, I don't plan on going anywhere," Percy reassured his baby sister already knowing what was going through her head.

Gwyneira just nodded her head before she slapped her brother upside the head.

"I'm not short!" Gwyneira snipped at her brother.

"You sure about that? I mean you are tiny in comparison to me," Percy laughed at his little sisters reaction.

"There's a reason why giraffes aren't the king of the jungle," Gwyneira retorted before she stood up walking towards the house.

Percy sat there processing what the heck just happened, before he snapped out of it.

"You little brat!" Percy called after his sister. Only to hear a faint laugh as he turned to look at where she was only to see her running towards the house.

Gwyneira was now swimming in the ocean enjoying the calmness of the ocean and warmth of the midday sun. She felt close to her parents when she was in the ocean. It reminded her of how her mother would sing as they would all swim and play in the water. She missed her parents. Missed her Mum's comforting voice and scent. Missed her fathers loud boisterous laugh. She missed everything she could remember about her parents and she always will.

She hadn't realized a couple tears had fallen from her eyes until a light breeze gently brushed past and all around her. It was as if it was trying to comfort her by drying her tears. Gwyneira had then submerged herself under the water watching the different species of colorful fish swimming around her. She had grown up getting used to being able to open her eyes underwater, so the salt in the water doesn't really bother her eyes anymore.

Diving down deeper she could see some brightly colored coral that had an abundant amount of animals living around in the coral. She even saw some fish swimming through the seaweed bed. She didn't know how long she was under the water for before she swam up to the surface.

When she breached the surface she looked out into the distance and watched as some dolphins were still swimming around playing. She then turned around sensing something was close to her and to see how far she had probably swam away from shore. Only for crystal blue to meet sea green. It stayed like that for a moment as if both were in some form of a trance. Except Gwyneira snapped out of it as she yelped startled as a dolphin suddenly appeared swimming between the two.

"Uh, hi," the bronze haired sea green eyed boy said gently.

"H-hi," Gwyneira stuttered as she hasn't had much interaction with anyone other than her brother, Tyler and Mags.

"Sorry, if I startled you," the boy who seemed to be around her age apologized to her.

"It wasn't you who startled me. It was the dolphin," the white haired girl whose wet hair shimmered like a pearl in the sunlight.

"True. They like playing tricks," the bronze haired boy commented.

Gwyneira nodded her head with a laugh. Especially when the dolphin that swam between them splashed water towards the boy. Causing him to splutter with a yelp, not expecting to be splashed. That just caused Gwyneira to smile in amusement.

"Oh, I'm Finnick Odair," the now named boy introduced himself.

"Gwyneira Fae," the small girl returned the introduction.

The two then spent time swimming together and challenging one another to see how long they could hold their breath under water for. Sometimes it would be a tie other times Gwyneira would win by a long shot as she would get distracted by something under the water. The two became surprisingly quick friends as they were now swimming back to shore only to see Percy there looking between the two curiously.

"Hi, Perce," Gwyneira greeted her brother as she walked over to him.

"Whose this?" Percy asked as he looked over his sisters head at the boy.

"He's my friend. His names Finnick," Gwyneira told her brother.

"Well it's nice to meet you Finnick. I'm Percy, Gwyneira's older brother," Percy greeted the other seven year old.

"Nice to meet you too, Percy," Finnick responded.

"Wait, did you say you made a friend?" Percy asked his little sister who nodded.

"I'm proud of you, tiny," Percy told his sister who glared lightly at him.

"You're just older than me, that's why you are freakishly tall," Gwyneira responded with a pout getting a couple laughs from the two boys.

Gwyneira had the funny suspicion that Percy and Finnick were going to get along like a house on fire. Poor Tyler, he'll be the one suffering from the carnage. But Gwyneira is just happy that she made a friend who is more than likely going to get along with her brother. That's all she could really ask for. Plus it just means her future is only going to get more interesting.
