Blossom's wings were aching. All she could think about was the flight she had been taking on her way back to the rainforest. And mangoes. That was the other thing in her mind, oh how she missed mangoes...
The rainforest was a haze on the horizon, a small sliver of greeny-Brown. Her stomach flipped as she remembered the letter she had gotten only a few weeks before. It had been ticking over and over in the back of her mind, she couldn't stop being suspicious.
The rain had started, it was predicted this morning, but why should she listen? All she wanted to do was go home.
The rain dripped off her long snout, her wings were growing heavy as well as aching. The rainforest was only a hours flight from where she was, but it felt like days. She imagined how Bayou must be feeling, going home to see his parents, at possibility, it would have taken him the entire day to get there.
Thunder was starting to rumble, its low growl was a warning. Blossom couldn't go on in this whether, her tribe would probably find her dead in a river or something morbid. She plummeted down towards the earth, scanning the ground for a place to take cover from the torrential storm.
Lightning cracked overhead, lighting up the ground for her. She spied a small cave and she dived into it, the stone was warm and dry.
She shook out her wings, in an effort to make them dry without a fire. It didn't work quit to plan, her wings were so heavy they wacked against the stone walls either side of her.
She tucked her wings in tight, like she always did around other dragons. she lay down on the stone floor and looked out the opening, the rain pouring down with no mercy. It was her perfect chance to think of something other than Mangoes.
Her dreams of Dew had been increasing, every single night she would go to the clearing and talk to Dew, about her problems, Dew's problems, and how to fix them.
She had really been a lifesaver in Blossoms opinion, but it was a pressing issue. How could she be visiting a strange, random dragons dreams, when she had no idea they or their kind existed? That was a worry for another day.
Blossom had another thought barging into her mind, one she couldn't resist. What is happening with my winglet? Where is Acmon? Where is Peacemaker? How can I fix this?
She remembered specifically, it was only a week ago, they called an emergency assembly, Tsunami was worried, Clay and Sunny were upset, Starflight was frowning. They had told the school that two students had gone missing, and that if they saw any signs of them, they were to report to Tsunami. It was hopeless though, no trace of either was found, and when dragons disappear, most often they aren't found alive.
Blossom sighed, resting her long head in her talons, she wished she could use her power to save them, but she didn't want to waste her soul. She knew that her soul was slowly chipping away, she just didn't want to speed it up.
The cave was starting to grow in coldness, which was unusual, it was originally warm in here. Scraping was sounding in the far end of the cave, a squirrel maybe, a snake hopefully.
A sudden impact crashed against the back of her head, the coldness gaining as a dragon thrashed a long branch against her skull. She started to see stars, before collapsing into pure darkness.
Taro
Taro stared as the Icewing guards hauled a large sack into the courtyard, the snow lightly brushing against their long silver body's. Aunt Tundra had made her design these false dragon guards, after the war with Darkstalker, she had been paranoid.
They were made of ice, entirely -to their brains- to their claws, ice. It had taken Taro months to carve them out, and she hated every moment of it. They look so real, yet they are hardwired onto kill first ask questions later.
"Watching your toys bring in a new dragon?" a voice sounded behind her. She turned around and saw Aqualon, her only friend. He'd been accepted to Jade mountain academy, and had left her, It was such a relief when he arrived yesterday evening.
"Hello fellow Hybrid." she said in their special greeting. It was fun being the only two hybrids in the tribe, it felt like they were special. He waddled up beside her, trying to keep warm. Taro pulled her white cloak further other her creamy yellow scales, which were often this colour when she was cold.
The Iced dragons heaved the sack into the middle of the courtyard, and when it hit the ground a small yelp cried out. Taro returned her attention to the contents of the sack, which would be revealed in a few moments. Aunt Tundra stepped into the yard. She flicked her wrist and the Iced dragons dumped the sacks contents in front of Aunty. A Pink and white dragon was splayed on the ground, long icicle horns reached to the bottom of her neck. Taro stepped back in surprise, this dragon looked just like her, except her coloured scales were pink instead of yellow.
Who is this dragon? Well I'll surely find out.
