Dew had been asleep for a while, Blossom hadn't a clue you could actually fall asleep in your dreams. She sighed and watched the dragon as her chest rose peacefully.
Maybe I should sleep... Haven't slept in days...
She scoffed at herself. In the real world she was sleeping right now. But she could spare herself... right? Just a few minutes...
She lay on a mossy stone and continued to watch the sleeping dragon. Her paper wings were impossibly thin, if Blossom so much as touched them, she was afraid they would break.
She rested her head delicately on her talons. Her eye lids were heavy, it seemed right to close them.
She closed her eyes with one last though before dropping into sleep, proper sleep. Can you have dreams in a dream?
Voices echoed around Blossom, long before she was consciously awake.
"Why did we have to bring her?" a gruff voice mumbled. A little shush gently quieted the agitated voice.
"You don't have to stay around, Taipan. You can go home and scowl at a wall while we help those in need." Another voice scowled at the first.
The first voice grumbled curses under their breath about how she couldn't take Ivy back home. A soft voice sounded in a muffled tone, as if they weren't in the room.
"Glade could you please prop the pink one's head up?" the muffled voice said. A small clunking sounded in the direction of the muffled voice.
"Yes Ma." The second voice said in reply. Shortly after Blossom felt slick claws push a soft hunk of something under her head.
"B-Be careful!" a third voice squealed cautiously. The second voice, Glade as Blossom heard it, grunted annoyed.
"By all moons, Hourglass! It's not like I'm going to rip her head off..."
"Just... She looks pretty hurt." the third voice said quietly.
The first voice spoke up. "She looks a lot like that dragon Bayou described... Should we go get him?"
"Yeah, you'll find him with his sibs, think Gator is with his partner though, so don't go looking there."
The sound of fabric folding and air against sand forced Blossom to open her eyes. Her surroundings were dim and hazy, as if she was still sleeping beside Dew.
"Ma! The pink one woke up!" the voice known as Glade cried. Blossom rolled her sore head over to where the voice had come from. A dark Rainwing was sitting in the corner of the small room, which Blossom had discovered was a tent.
She had a long curving body, large muscular wings and a short snout. But she didn't look like any Rainwing she'd ever seen. She looked more like Firefly...
Ah hah! A hybrid!
She had green and deep purple scales, and the occasional black one here and there.
"Wh-wh-wherrrrre am I?" Blossom slurred sleepily. Something was wrong, the room was going in and out of focus, her back right talon was limp and wrenched a completely unnatural way.
Are my toes really that long?
"More of a question, what were you and your posy doing near the edge of Possibility? Don't you know that's where you'll end up killing yourself?" Glade said edgily.
Blossom turned her head to see if the others were in the tent as well. Except someone else was there, their snout a foot away from Blossom's.
She yelped startled.
The dragon was a Sandwing, although he looked rather odd, either that or Blossom's eyes were broken.
How can eyes be broken? Hm...
He had black and sandy scales, they looked absolutely stunning in Blossom's opinion.
"Are those your real scales? They look fabulous..." Blossom slurred dizzily. The room was jumping at her.
The Sandwing gave Glade an amused look as if trying to conceal a laugh. A muffled shriek sounded from the other side of the room. Blossom opened her eyes wide as she caught sight of Aqualon huddled over something.
A gorgeous Rainwing with purple and gold scales strode into the room. She was older, maybe twenty, but her scales shone as if they had magma inlaid in them. She was rather small as well, as if she had been cut off at the knees, but not stubby, more gracefully long and only slightly plump.
"How did this happen!" Aqualon cried desperately to the Rainwing.
The Rainwing patted him on the back, speaking soothing unheard words.
Aqualon calmed down and Blossom caught sight of what he was crying over.
Oh no no no no no.
Amber was in a heap on the ground, a pool of blood was swimming around her head.
Blossom could see her breathing small shallow breathes, but it wasn't enough.
"Aaaaaaaaaamberrrrrrr!" Blossom slurred again, her voice dripping with exhaustion. She tried to get up but her talons slipped against the hard rugs under foot.
Seriously why is my foot so sore?
The purple Rainwing turned and left Aqualon's side to tend to Blossom.
"Must have hurt your head pretty badly, little pink one." she smiled, her smile was as sweet as mangoes and honey.
Mangoes...
"You must be starving, your so very thin." the Rainwing said, responding to Blossoms growling stomach.
She left and wandered into the back room of the tent, coming back with a large bunch of bananas. She staggered under its weight, which made Blossom smirk for some reason.
The Dragon thrusted a banana into Blossoms talons, the surface was mushy.
Without even thinking, Blossom thrusted herself to sitting and ate the Banana whole, skin and all.
The Rainwing muffled a laugh and stepped over to give another to Aqualon.
"Hey Pinky." Glade said gruffly. "What's your name?"
"Blossom"
"Cute name!" another voice said from the back room. A Seawing with dark scaled emerged with a small vial with pale orange liquid in his claws. The Rainwing rushed over to him cautiously and carefully took the vial from him.
He shrugged and bumped Glade with his wing whilst sitting down next to her lazily. "My name is Rapid. Amazing name I know! This is Glade' Shadow, or just Glade. And that worried mess over there is Hourglass. Most stunning names on the face of Pyrrhia!" the Seawing yapped.
Glade rolled her eyes opening her mouth to speak, " Anyways, Welcome to our home. Your welcome for us saving your life."
