The wind buffeted around Blossoms ears, her wings drew her powerfully against the gust. She felt as light as a feather, swooping through the air with ease.

"Wow! I thought that you wouldn't be used to flying in the cold!" Taro cooed, her cape was attached to her wings, making her look as if she were an angel.

Blossom could tell Aqualon thought the same, he kept looking longingly at Taro as she swooped gracefully next to Blossom.

It turned out that Taro was an egg, in the hatchery when she was taken. Apparently Mother had told Tundra to take her, and they sold her for a walrus. Blossom doubted this highly, her mother had to much of a heart to let one of her eggs fly away forever.

"How much further until we reach your mothers old hut?" Blossom called back to Aqualon who insisted on staying behind and watching if they were being followed.

"Its on the other side of the border. Mom liked her privacy, although that's also when the great Ice wall was still up."

"You said your family lives in the palace now?"

"Last week they left, scared probably, and now they're bunkering out here."

Blossom looked back to see Aqualon scanning the ground, his eyes locking on a small dot in the distance. The border.

What was left of the great ice wall was a lot of crushed ice on the ground, Blossom guessed they thought it would melt eventually but enchanted Ice doesn't really melt. At least now it couldn't shoot Icey spears into their hearts.

They flew over the rubble and spotted a small, brick hut, nestled in a small forest. Smoke was coming out of the chimney. Blossom wondered how there could be fire, since Icewings don't have fire.

Aqualon's face lit up as a small, maybe one year old red Icewing came racing out of the hut, her beautiful scales shone copper in the dawning sun of the morning.

"Lonny!" she squealed happily as Aqualon landed and pulled her into his arms. She giggled as he threw her playfully into the air, and catching her with a smile.

"Amber!" Taro said, as if she was her own sister.

Amber squeezed out of Aqualon's embrace and hugged Taro.

Amber was smaller than most one year old dragonets, her stubby little body was plump and sweat.

Amber turned her big light blue eyes to Blossom, tugging on Taro's cape. "Who is that?" she whispered, loud enough for Blossom to hear.

Taro turned around and smiled. "That's my sister Blossom." she said in a sing song voice. Amber looked up at Taro and then slowly shifted her gaze to look at Blossom. Blossom smiled and waved, trying to gain this dragonets trust.

She waved back, a small shy smile grew on her face.

"Lonny, Daddy wants you inside. He said you'll freeze your snout off." she said in a whiney voice. Aqualon swooped her up in his arms and carried her towards the hut. Taro followed close behind. Blossom looked around her, making sure a looming Icewing wasn't following.

When nothing seemed to be following them, Blossom scuttled towards the hut. The smells hit Blossom first, not the terrible decor.

It smelled of roasted walruses, weird animals and pigs. Lots of pigs. A large brooding Icewing sat in the corner of the hut, his nose buried in a scroll he was intently reading. "Dad!" Aqualon exploded, his happiness reaching the brim.

The Icewing looked up surprised by the commotion. He smiled a large loving smile.

"Blossom, I'd like you to meet my dad, Hailstorm. He was the queens general, but he retired a few years ago." Aqualon said proudly.
