Authors POVIt was later in the day after school on a Friday. Stacy, Gloria, Cassie , and Gwen were walking down the road while sharing gummy bears with each other. They walked on to stop by the Curtis house. Gwen was excited to go, not because she'll see Dally although she still likes him a little, but to see Johnny because he was really kind to her and she was happy to talk to a boy like that for once in a while. Stacy was only going In support of her friends, she didn't quite care too much for anyone at the Curtis house.
Cassie was very elated to see Ponyboy and his family for the first time. It felt a like a bigger step for them both and she's glad to know that they have her and her friends trust. She hopes by helping out, everything could just go away and she and Ponyboy could like each other like any of the regular person would like someone.
Gloria was pretty nervous. Things were settling in more, but she wanted to help however she could.
Soon they walked along a sidewalk and saw the sign, "Curtis House", Cassie's face lit up and she quickly ran up to the door to knock on it. Before she could Stacy took her hand back. "Why'd you do that", Cassie asked in confusion. Stacy then chuckled as she then just opened the door. "Let's be liek greasers alright, at least right now. I'm sure they'd never have a lock on their door, who else would really wanna go in here, no offense", Stacy said walking inside as everyone else then shrugged and chuckled before walking in behind her.
As they walked in, Ponyboy, Darry, Dally, And Johnny saw them. Sodapop and Steve were arm wrestling so they didn't even bother looking. Two-Bit wasn't there. He was else where, probably drinking. Habits from his father.
"You guys are here! And you didn't knock.. how'd you know the door didn't have one", Ponyboy asked as he walked over to Cassie and took her hand.
"Keen greaser instinct. And as you keep seeing I got the jeans and the jackettt, I'm like one of y'all now", Stacy said as Dally Chuckled. "I see you, maybe I could show you a few tricks", Dally said smirking as Stacy cocked her eyebrow.
Gwen then felt a little hot after seeing. So she stepped in front of Stacy. "She wouldn't want to actually get into life of crime. The cops knowing you all the time ain't some flex", Gwen said as everyone gasped and Ponyboy and Steve started laughing.
"Didn't you use to like me, it was clear, jealous never looks good on a high class girl", Dally said as Darry pinched him. "Ow!".
"Leave the girls alone, they're freshmen for gods sake and you've never been in school so you probably don't even know what a freshman is", Darry said as Dally scoffed and backed away.
"Thanks.. um.. what's your name again..", Gwen asked.
"It's Darrel but call me Darry", He said with a slight smile as Gwen smiled back.
"Don't worry Gwen, I would never like Winston over there, I've got you", Stacy whispered to Gwen making her smile. "Thanks bestie", Gwen whispered back.
"Well, how about we all sit and talk about this.. never expected this though..", Darry said as everyone went into the living room.
" I never expected to be in greaser neighborhood, if anyone saw would they possibly beat out asses", Stacy asked.
"I'm sure they wouldn't hurt a girl actually but us? They definitely would", Dally said.
"Would you hurt a girl though", Gwen asked.
Dally then rolled his eyes, thinking back to Cherry when he harassed her. Gwen then laughed.
"Guys let's keep it serious.. you two aren't much of anything.. the tension isn't needed.. Ponyboy is what matters here", Cassie said crossing her arms.
"Isn't your love for him just growing", Dally said sarcastically. "Is love growing for you at all? Don't think so anyways", Cassie said as she turned to Darry leaving Dally stunned by her mouth.
"These girls are amazing. They should've been born greasers man", Dally whispered to Johnny. "Maybe.. but if they did hopefully they wouldn't run into the likes of you", Johnny said.
"Where'd you get a mouth all of a sudden man", Dally asked.
"Oh well.. I've just been.. thinking a lot to myself.. I'm getting tired of things and people.. I don't want to be the peoples puppy anymore.. I have to get away..", Johnny said as Dally patted his back. "Understood my friend".

Cassie, Darry, And Ponyboy began talking about what's been going on at school more and what to do about it. It's possible that a rumble will come soon due to this than expected. And despite that, Darry is betting on keeping Pony away from it. Based on how easily he got beat up last time in one. It didn't even take a second before he got hit.
"So.. would telling the principal really do much.. wouldn't that cause some segregation..", Steve asked.
"Using that word doesn't seem right..", Cassie said.
"Why not", Steve asked.
"White trash on white trash Steve. This whole thing is very stupid", Cassie said.
"Alright yeah.. right..", Steve said as he went back to Sodapop.
"We can't sit around for too long.. I really would consider telling the principal.. but with everything that has happened it's like they're choosing to be blind.. maybe one of you could say something", Ponyboy said as he bit his finger nails. Gloria's lips then parted for the first time this afternoon. "I could do it.. if that's fine", Gloria said shyly.
"Yeah that'd be great thanks", Ponyboy said with a smile.
"Why hasn't this chick talked all this time", Dally asked.
"She's tired and nervous.. she's never been in such situation not of us have. It's just coming more of a reality", Gwen stepped in.
"Nervous, who has time to be nervous man", Dally said as Gloria glared at him. "Anyone who's a target is allowed to feel nervous", Gloria said. "Yeah ponyboy not you", Dally said as Gloria rolled her eyes.
"Listen, Ponyboy is a target, the main one. But so are we because we're defending him. We're all in this together so don't make it some competition. You're seriously not much help", Stacy said crossing her arms.
"He really isn't so he should shut his mouth, right Dallas", Darry said looking at him as He then cleared his throat and sat back.
"I have some ideas.. Bob.. he goes to this bar because his dad goes. So somehow they let him in.. but no surprise.. he's privilege.. but he goes there.. and he talks to girls that aren't Cherry.. girls who are 21 or older.. or even his age.. any girl that attracts any of those bosses they let in.. so.. I..I know it may seem like a bad idea.. but maybe one of you could.. you know..", Johnny said awkwardly.
"I'll do it.. Bob likes look it only seems I would know too.. I have a black dress.. my mother bought me for me from my last birthday. I'll wear it when I go to that bar.. and I'm sure they'll let me in that.. but if I go.. what should I even do..", Cassie asked.
"Be nice to him somehow.. maybe not entirely but.. get him to be on your side.. for him to trust you.. if you do that.. you can keep him out of the rumble.. he's their leader after all..", Johnny said.
"Good thinking", Darry said as Ponyboy sighed.
"I know it's a plan.. but excuse me if I get jealous..", Ponyboy said as Cassie chuckled a little.
"Don't worry.. I only mean to help you. I want you to be safe and for those stupid socs to just lose everything.. that's all I care about.. and if by doing this means I can.. then alright .. it's a risk by its worth it.. all for you", Cassie said smiling at Ponyboy as he smiled back. He's never felt this important before. He couldn't help but hey many butterflies as blushes from it.
"Bad guy and his girl, soon all the eyes would be on you too Cassie", Dally said.
"Then so be it..", Cassie said Sternly.
Gwen, Gloria, and Gwen felt impressed by Cassie's Determination. They view her as the bravest out of all of them. They're all just teens in a war.. one that never deserved to happen.
