Not much is known about DK; records are scarce these days, and people who believe such a horror story are rarer. I would have been one of them if she wasn't a living legend. Five hundred years ago, the world was brought to its knees, and DK was meant to rule for all eternity in blood and conquest.

That didn't happen; she cannot say why, her memory of the events patchy at best. Her last avatar was gone with the wind; putting that life beside her, we decided living a carefree life would be easier. But when you're a cursed spirit who caused mass genocide in the past, something like that isn't on the table.

These Jujusu Sorcerers are here for me; they do not know what DK is, nor could they imagine the destruction she could unleash if left unchecked. All they care to know is I'm harbouring a Cursed Spirit, and the only thing on my table is death. It's a constant cycle, DK says. A cycle of death and rebirth, but you ask me, I'm not exactly thrilled about the dying part, especially considering the part where my death will unleash judgment day.

DK's presence was drifting, her influence fizzling out by the second as I brought upon some council—a bunch of stuck-up old geezers who had no idea what they were getting on themselves. The one needle in the haystack was Gojo sitting in the back, legs up, lollipop in hand. Brought down on my knees, I was still handcuffed, like that would change. But this chamber, it was different. Talismans were plastered everywhere, covering every knock and cranny and clearly meant to be there to banish any Cursed Spirits from escaping.

No wonder DK is struggling, struggling, not gone. I could still see her in the corner of my eye, judging the situation. Lowering my head, I spoke to myself, thoughts racing. "No funny business now, DK; we don't want to spook these lot."

"Sure, let's make your killers feel right at home; I wouldn't want them fearing us any more than they already do."

"Atta girl, see you on the flip side."

The room fell silent as one of the council members spoke up. "Y/N Kronos, that is your name, correct?"

"Aye."

"Born in Cambridge, England, to a prestigious family who are all meant to be dead."

Glancing at Gojo, I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't feel particularly dead."

"Quite." Another one spoke. "Four years ago, you were said to have perished in a car crash, no survivors. This was when you came into contact with this Cursed Spirit, correct?"

"Bingo, although if we could keep it between us, she prefers DK."

Each council member looked at each other disgusted; they acted like I just took a dump on their mother's grave or something. "Gojo, what did you say this Cursed Spirit was called?"

Gojo smiled, flipping his sweet around and speaking up. "If what our new friend claims is true, it goes by a few names. DK was one thought up by Y/N here, but in more distant history, they went by the Blood Empress; the name isn't completely without cause. We have a few records briefly mentioning such a Cursed Spirit but nothing to build up a proper case. Although that is more of a title, her real name is a mystery."

"And this Blood Empress, is it a threat."

Gojo looked at me, leaning forward. "Why don't you tell us, Y/N? Is your girlfriend a threat? Are you a threat?"

"I feel pretty threatened right now." I point out, getting Gojo to clear his throat. "I mean, I've been pretty hidden away for four years now, haven't I? I can tell I wasn't on your radars for very long; I guess that finger thingy I found was the root of the cause, right? If I was a hell-raising monster looking to destroy the world, you thought maybe I would have done that by now!?"
