Adrian WintersThe plane landed at midnight, Vegas's bright colourful lights shining and in the center of the city I could see Winters Group's Vegas Tower, the funniest part was each floor had an average of thirteen foot ceilings.
Of course my fucking architects had inadvertently made a demonic number the ceiling height for the headquarters in Vegas.
I wasn't dumb enough to let the city trick me, it was beautiful to me, the darkest aspects of life were, and I wasn't even willing to pretend I wasn't a good man, but definitely not a good guy, I'd shot people, destroyed people, manipulated, famoosed, and blackmailed my way to the top of New York society. My fathers emotions were his downfall and like me he'd had a woman willing to be the light to the darkness, though I was also aware that my mother had told him that I was the worst of him, and that he'd made me this way, which in a certain capacity was also all the good of him, and the kindness of my mom. I hadn't bothered to deny that, I'd welcomed the reputation I was known for embraced it even if I knew that there was but a very small part of my soul that was redeemable, all for Olivia, and for the small group of friends that had earned immunity, even if it was conditional at first, and unconditional later.
"Mr. Winters," Elijah says as he located the key for the low sleek Lamborghini set to await me. Crossing the reinforced tarmac I took the key and climbed into the car, I started the engine before Elijah got into the passenger seat before driving off through the city towards the Canyons where the compound was.
The area I lived in required one to buy land and build on it, and as a result it was my most expensive property on the western side of the country.
Eventually I'd reached the gated compound, and it was a compound. Tall walls surrounded the property, peaked with squared peaks and copper inued roads connecting them decoratively that would electrocute someone should they try to climb it. A long large smooth pale stoned driveway lined by a short Roman brick lining of a garden bed filled with palm trees of which there was a hundred or more on the property. The whole house was also shy of forty thousand square feet, and on the three acre property there wasnt much I hadn't asked to be apart of the home. I'd also noticed that my chauffeur was cleaning the S-class that would have brought Olivia here in the driveway in the middle of the two four door garages.
Parking the 50th Anniversario Aventador I pushed the door open and climbed out putting on glasses, and straightening the tuxedo jacket with its swirling lace like designs across it aside from the gloss satin lapels, and the matching pocket square.
Rounding the vehicle I slid the Schmeisser into the band of my trousers and walked into the sandy stucco home with Mediterranean styling and black tiled roof all while the home was almost what one would have expected from an old Emperor, and to my fairness, I did run an Empire.
And I'd been compared to Nero on occasion.
Entering my home I began to seek out Olivia wherever she may be in the large palatial home. Black columns lined most of the doorways and the rotunda where the grand spiraling stairs was and split off to the East and West wings of the home. Descending the steps I passed towards the kitchen, and there was nothing around the grey marble countered space and dark wooden cabinetry, or the bronze handles and metal plated light pieces, the perfect blend between classic and modern.
Nothing.
Continuing on I passed through the large twelve seat dining room with its wall of red wines worth the average Americans salary. I'd hated the wealth inequality in this country, it allowed for control, kept those who didn't have the drive to create a better future for themselves or work for their own freedom and choice. I searched for talent, and skill, I valued potential, and I'd been willing to create highly paid individuals in the world if I could utilize their skills; and yet it was my skill that allowed me to create a life like this.
