I launched my exhausted body onto the couch to relieve my aching feet and yanked of my sweaty shoes. I had just got off a 10 hour day at the diner however the night before i had worked a night shift since it a 24 hour restaurant.
My last day off was the one i spent with the guys, 5 days ago. I'm sure this was a violation of my human rights making me work this much, i had to look on the bright side though it's getting paid.

I woke up at 8 am on the sofa still in my work clothes. There was a tub of Xanax and half a bottle of white wine on the coffee table in front, this lush mix must have been the cause of me passing out. My sleep deprivation and risky mix of narcotics must have knocked me out.
I got up from where i sat, my neck ached because of the unconventional sleeping position i passed out in. Walking over to the bathroom with my spinning head wasn't the easiest of tasks. Post piss i splashed my face with cold water to try and shake off the vertigo, it helped a small bit.
The three days off i had after today's shift was the only thing pushing me to get my ass ready for work. Make-up, hair, clothes, shoes, i was ready for work and so began my walk there.
Ava greeted me with a warm embrace, we hadn't work together for god now's how long. A debrief of the last couple of weeks was well over due.
Throughout the day we spoke about our boy problems, she told me about how her boyfriend took her to Miami coast for a long weekend trip where he bought her a beautiful diamond necklace. I spoke about Oddy, informing her on the date we went on and how he stood up for me when the guy from the bar was getting to big. Also i told her about the sexual things we did and asked her whether or not i was crazy for thinking he liked me.
Ana was the only friend i had made by myself since moving here so she ment a lot. Don't get me wrong my other friends back in Washington were great but there's something special with Ava, we just clicked straight away which was unusual for the both of us.
As much as I complain about work i do love it deep down. There's a sense of comfort you get when you see your regulars or when the chef shouts at you for something that isn't really your fault but his.

4 pm. My phone vibrated in my pocket. I checked to see who it was calling.
"Hey Ava I'm just gonna go for a smoke." She nodded in response.
I pulled out a smoke and lit it up puffing harshly as it was only my second smoke of the day. "Hi Ruby, I'm at work can you make this quick"
"Hello how are you. That's the way normal, nice people answer the phone."
"Sorry... whats wrong with me..." i hit my forehead as if i was speaking to him in real life.
"Whatever" he growled. "I'm at the studio right now, and Harvey just told me he's going on a date with that girl he's seeing. So i was wondering if you want me to pick you up from work... you know so you're not going home alone."
"That's okay... i'll make it home myself"
"Alright then, but if you get kidnapped don't come running to me"
