Big city blues

I got back about 7 minutes after I left. I had bought a peach monster for myself and a few beers for Germ. As I walked into the chill area opposite the recording room, the boys were all sat having a deep talk about girls.

My energetic 'hey' trailed off the minute I crossed the door frame. My tone fully changed and became much more somber "is everything okay?"

"Yeah everything's good" said Ruby.

"Beer anyone?" They all erupted into speech, begging I give them one which I did.

I sat myself onto the couch between Ruby and Pouya (the same as before) - Scot had brought his office chair to the table so we could talk to one another.

Pouya had pain in his eyes. Each breath he took was a deep sigh as if someone was sat on his chest suffocating him. "Are you okay hunny?" I rubbed my thumb over his knee.

He looked into my eyes, his bottom lip shook ever so slightly like the earthquake before the tsunami. Not to anyone's surprise, he began to sob. His head dropped onto my shoulder and I put my arm over his neck. I looked over at Scot whose face was closest to mine, giving him a hopeful look praying he could tell me what to do or even just what had happened. I was met with a blank face and a shrug of the shoulders.

"Kev hunny, are you going to tell me what happened so I'm can help you?"

He gasped for air "she cheated, again"

" oh baby...that's awful come here" I fully embraced him in a hug. I felt myself fall into the roll of 'mother' as I mimic the things my mom told me when I was sad about my dad passing.

I saw the note pad with scribbles on it. It looked like an attempt to write lyrics. Next to it was the roach of a spliff which connected the puzzle on what the fuck happened whilst i was gone.

After crying some more tears, Kev rubbed his face dry and sat up. He took his phone from his pocket and began to type.

"Can i read its before you send it?" I asked as I didn't want any sour comments to be made over text.

"Here" he passed me the phone.

"Thanks" i said as i read the emotional paragraph which was ready to be sent. "You sure you wanna do this over text?'

"Yes" i gave him back his phone.

"Did he break up with her?" Germ asked.

"No, he wanted to tell her he forgives her and he understands why she would cheat."

"What the fuck?" Ruby sounded concerned. Was it wrong that it turned me on slightly.

"He's a grown man Ari, he can make his own decisions...even if there the wrong one's" i spoke firmly however it wined off at the end and became a whisper as i knew that I probably shouldn't have been saying what i did.

"Emma this isn't the first time she's done this and he needs to learn that she is not going to change... that's one of the main reasons we came to record here, so Kev would have friends to get though it." My heart warmed at the knowing that Ruby would drop everything for his friends. If that's how he treats his friends, imagen how he treats his girlfriends.
