I woke up to the sound of Ruby's snoring. I was half awake and i could feel my head rise and lower as his lungs filled and emptied. Slowly, rubbing my eyes, i sat up and looked around me. The only thing i could see was a red light glowing from the kitchen. With the help of the moon guiding me across each obstacle, i creeped to the beaming light. All my senses were hightened and i was overly wary of each crevice and sound  in this house.

Upon reaching the light, i found it said the time 3:08 am. I sighed as if i was breathing out every worry that accumulated over the painfully long minute walk to the oven.

I pondered, looking into space slowly joining my thoughts together and deciding what i should do. For answers, i strutted over to the fridge with my new found confidence and swung open the door. The light illuminated the black void which was the dark house, my bare body now visible. I only remembered i was clothless when i saw myself, panic rushed to my head, i scrambled to find something to cover myself. But it soon came to me that I didn't need to cover up as there was only one other person in the whole house other than me and he adored my body.

I took a bottle of water from the fridge and a packet of smokes from the kitchen side. I walked over to the back door and opened it, walking out i was hit with an odd warmth. It was cold yet warm, humid but not clammy the perfect climate for a nighttime smoke. The porch light flickered often but never enough for there to be full darkness.

Beside the door, there was a rickety, rusty, old chair. The metal had oxidised in certain places leaving the chair with pockets of orange colour too it, the mesh which covered the chair was an unappealing browny/grey hybrid of incompatible plastics. It was just what you'd expect from this Floridian house.

Post reassuring myself a crocodile wasn't going to pounce out at me or a crazy pensioner wasn't going to shout at me for being up too late, i sat. I lifted my feet onto the chair to ensure no snake could poison me and brought the flame from the Bic lighter closer to my mouth where a cig hung. They met and smoke quickly filled my lugs. The bright red cherry of the cigarette worked as a light when the flickering light outdoors loose its rhythm nd the garden would turn dark for a second.

My ears perked up. there was a rustle. Then a creak. Then a rustle. I closed my eyes thinking i as I ageing the noises. Another creak. I was not imagining this. I took a breath of false confindence and peaked my head out slightly to see if i could see anything. Nothing.

I spoke under my breath "What the fuck is happening" then rapped my lips around the cig.

I could feel myself get tried once my anxiety wore off a little. I had now let my guard down and was much less aware on my surroundings. My hand dropped against the arm rest of the chair in exhaustion, only just holding on to the now much shorter cig. My eye grew heavier and heavier.

A creak. My eyes shot open but i was unable to turn my head to see what was happening. The odd sound was followed by footsteps that became louder every second.

A hand grabbed mine.

The cigarettes was snatched from my grasp. "Baby..." a whine came from a low sleepy voice to my right.

"Yes" i said softly as to not back the peace of the darkness.

Oddy came and stood in front of me then swung his arms around me, drowning me in his embrace. My face was smushed against his tummy, it was warm and secure, a feeling i want to have forever. A feeling i would only get from him.

We Sat like that until there was another rustle. Ruby's head turned quickly to see what was going to attack us. There was nothing.

Oddy turned to face me again "Come inside baby...you're gonna get scared out here alone" he kissed me on the forehead.
