Enemies to Lovers

It was early June, meaning Nevermore Academy was set up for their senior start-of-the-year trip abroad. This year's location was New York, students and teachers who volunteered their free time will be staying at The Whitby Hotel for 2 weeks, meaning everyone would have to take a 4-hour-long bus journey to the airport before taking an 8-hour flight to their location.

Everyone was gathered around the coach, people lining up to put their luggage in the carrier hold beneath the bus, you and your friends were all set and good to go, you just needed to wait for Mrs Blackberry and Mr Cornwall to finish taking a head count after telling each student who they'll be staying with at the hotel, anyone willing to change better show good behaviour on the journey to New York, otherwise you'll be unfortunate to keep your assigned roommate.

Present

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I cry out, mourning into Yoko's shoulder as she cackles, but is still kind enough to rub my back sympathetically.

"Oh, come on, it's only for two weeks," she says, trying to lighten my spirits, I look up at her, a scowl on my face.

"No, no, it's totally okay," I say sarcastically,  "I need to share a bed-" I gag, and quickly rephrase my words, "Share a bedroom, with that sneaky, conniving little-" I'm interrupted when I feel a sudden weight on my back, and if it wasn't for Yoko tightening her grip on my shoulders, I would've fallen over.

"Hi Y/nnie!" The familiar voice of Enid squeals into my ears, I internally cringe from her high-pitched volume being straight in my ear but smile, nonetheless. I playfully jump about and spin Enid as she clings to my back, giggling like a little kid, earning a few stares from other students nearby. Causing me and Yoko to laugh with her as I come to a stop. "So, how's my two lovely ladies?" Enid asks, still refusing to get off my back as she casually converses with the two of us.

"Y/n is having a mental breakdown," Yoko taunts me, causing me to stick my middle finger up at her, the gesture is returned, so I blow a raspberry at her, and she scoffs, acting offended by her having her hand on her chest.

"Aww Y/nnie, you getting anxiety again?" Enid asks empathetically in my ear, hugging me tight, I pat her arms that are around my neck to reassure her, not minding her twiddling with my heart-shaped locket. She and Yoko knew I had some worries when it came to exploring a place, I was clueless or unfamiliar with, so the check-up was reasonable.

"No, I just don't like my chosen roommate," I tell her, not wanting to offend her by saying who it was, but obviously the curious werewolf must know.

"Who is it?" She asks, climbing down from my back to stand next to me and Yoko, she was sandwiched in the middle of us. I didn't really want to name anyone in particular, but Yoko seemed more than willing to spill the information.

Just as the Vampire was away to speak, a dark figure harshly shoved past the vampire, hitting her shoulder along the way, "Come, Sinclair, I do not wish to be stuck sitting next to anyone insignificant on the bus," Wednesday Addams's voice grumbles, taking Enid's wrist, ready to whisk her away.

I'm quick to pull Enid back, glaring at the raveonette who looks equally as displeased to see me, "Apologise to Yoko, Addams," I order her harshly, not liking how she treated my friends.

"Why should I, L/n?" She scoffs, "She was in my way," her words arrogant and full of self-sureness. Her cocky remark makes my blood boil, so I instinctively pull the blonde into me, making the werewolf squeak at the rising tension.
