I quickly head to my typewriter the moment I can, my brain was racing with thoughts, but not of my novel, this was important, much more important.

I stared blankly at the page for a second, before my fingers started flying across the keyboard, thinking back to my bizarre interaction with her a few minutes before.

I was working on my novel, and Enid was out for a sleepover at Yoko's much to my delight, I finally had peace from her annoying K-pop music, it was too loud and fast-paced, and it made my head throb. Just when I thought I was finally in for a peaceful night, listening to nothing but the ambience of the rain pitter-pattering outside, and the clicking of my typewriter keys, two loud knocks startle me out of my focused trance.

I stand up, walking over to where the knocking was heard, my balcony door. I open the hatch of the window that acts as a glass door, seeing nothing at first, I am away to turn around and leave when a weak, yet urgent grip on my boot catches my attention, I look down, finding Thing clinging to me for dear life.

I scoff, "Thing, we have talked about this if you wish for affection, you shall ask after I'm done writing," I glower at the disembodied part, yet still my companion was shaking, cowering behind my heel, this was unlike him. I knew it wasn't from the cold, Thing was resistant to many different weathers, so as much as I hated to admit it, I was concerned.

"Thing?" I speak calmly, looking down at him still, a roar of thunder rumbles, lightning following soon after, the spark was delayed, but once it hit I was now aware of a dark silhouette lurking on the corner of my balcony, their stand offensive, they seemed to be heaving, their form hunched over slightly as I could see the rain cling their clothes to their skin, their head hung down, yet I could see their eyes clear as day in the night, it was unnerving.

"Who may you be?" I ask the figure unamused; they step forward once, making Thing flinch, and I quickly grow furious, "Are you the one tormenting my compatriot?" I question with a cold undertone; I feel a spark in my chest when the flicker of light in their eyes meets with mine. "I do not take kindly to people who threaten those close to me, I suggest you leave," I warn the shadow.

"Tell your companion, to mind his business, and maybe next time I won't chop off his finger," the bitter grave voice speaks up, another strike of lightning hits, letting me catch a glimpse of who the culprit on my balcony is, Y/n L/n.

She looked a mess, the water droplets trickling down her face, some gathered on the hairs of her brows before a bigger droplet spilt along the slit of her nose, the constant attack of the rain was getting her form wetter, but within the midst of the night, I was able to spot some darker shades in the raindrops clinging to her skin, they were thicker, they fall to the concrete balcony floor, and I instantly recognise the familiar image of a blood spool.

"Get inside, you're bleeding," I command her, my eyes narrowing on her, expecting her to walk forward.

"I'm fine, I'm going back to my room," she grumbles loudly over the downpour, turning on her heels to get ready to mount the railing. I was quick to grab her wrist, making something fall from her hand, but I was too focused on dragging her inside to try and make out what it was, her arm visibly tensed under my touch, but she allowed me to pull her through into the dorm.
