What just happened? Sophie leaves, Keefe comes back, and talks with Grady and Edaline. Jolie didn't know Sophie felt that way. Now she felt bad. Did she ruin Sophie's life by coming back? She was pondering all her thoughts on the floor when Grady said something. Not hearing him the first time she asked him to repeat it.
"Are you okay?"
"You should ask that question to Sophie." She knew she was being mean, but she couldn't help it.
"It's not your fault," Grady assured her.
"I know. It's yours." She snapped and raced off to her room.
Grady
Grady is so disappointed in himself. He is the worst guardian--no--he's the worst father. Of course, Sophie would feel like she was getting replaced. He needed to make it up to her. After he found Edaline.
Sophie
After Keefe came back, Sophie pulled out a human board game. It's called Twister and Keefe was terrible at it. He kept falling over and shaking his butt in Sophie's face. At one point Sophie pushed him off the mat. That resulted in lots of screaming and running.
When they were out of breath, they collapsed on Keefe's bed and fell asleep in each other's arms.
Sophie swore she heard Keefe whisper, "I love you." She forgot all of her problems, falling asleep happy.
