'Alright, I can't stand this anymore. Stop whatever you're doing in this cave and come to the kitchen. You have one minute and then I'm raising hell if you're not through.'

The door shuts as quickly as it opened and Addie barely caught more than a glimpse of her flatmate before she was gone, with nothing but dramatic stomps getting quieter on the other side of the door.

Addie blinks at it, rubbing her eyes. The sudden burst of light from the living room gave her dark spots in her vision – she has to replay the moment in her head to even really comprehend what was said.

She feels a frown coming on and mutters that 'it's not a cave,' before realising that she's a) talking to herself, and b) wrong.

The only light that's turned on is the orange-tinted lamp on her desk, illuminating piles of files and folders and notes and random papers wedged between these. Some of them are Addie's, some are Holden's, while others are written in more different styles of handwriting than she can count. All from witness accounts, files, and court documentation, it's every Addie needs to catch up on that she couldn't do over her laptop at home. The same laptop that should be playing lo-fi study music but she hadn't even noticed until now that she hadn't plugged it in correctly and the battery ran out at some point.
