The Senate

Kaien's POV

(Y/N) glared at the door and said,

"The person behind that door.....wants to hurt you." I held her by her waist and she clutched onto me. I sighed and said,

"It's fine. I'm gonna be fine." She looked extremely worried about me. I opened the door and a vampire stood there.

"Hello there. Are you the hunter Kaien Cross?" He said, growling slightly as I nodded. His eyes had a blood colored luster in them as he went to kill me, (Y/N) grabbed him by his arm and said,

"Who's your master?" The vampire looked up at (Y/N) and said,

"L-Lady (Y/N)! We're from the Senate." She glared at him and said,

"'We're?'" He nodded and said,

"Yes, my lady. But if you, a Pure Blood, is against us we can't complete our mission." She let his arm go and said,

"Your mission?" He nodded and said,

"Our mission from the Senate is to kill Kaien Cross." She growled and her eyes narrowed, killing the vampire. She slammed the door shut and said,

"I'm going get dressed." I looked at her and nodded, saying,

"Me too." She turned around and said,

"Absolutely not! You're not a vampire hunter anymore, you can't protect yourself from them!" I sighed and looked at the ground, saying,

"You're right...but I'm not comfortable leaving you alone to take care of them." She scoffed and smirked, saying,

"They won't lay a hand on me....I'm a Pure Blood." My eyes trembled and she looked at me, saying,

"If I leave you here alone though....they'll find a way in and kill you." She put on a black button down shirt, white skinny jeans, and black combat boots. On top of the button down shirt she put on a black trench coat. I got dressed in my usual clothes. I looked at (Y/N) and saw the blood colored luster in her eye, she was angry that the Senate was even thinking of laying a hand on me. She opened the door and the Senate's henchmen were standing outside. There were at least eight vampires outside. (Y/N) walked outside, me right behind her. She looked at the vampires and said,

"If you truthfully want to kill him.....you'll have to kill me first." The vampires gasped and said,

"Lady (Y/N)? why do you feel so strongly about this?!? He's just a human! A hunter!" She glared at him and his shoulder exploded. He grabbed his shoulder, in pain, and (Y/N) said,

"You dare talk to me that way?" My eyes widened as I saw the hatred in her eyes.

'I feel so useless. I can't even protect my own fiancé.' I thought, as I looked away from (Y/N). She glanced back at me and said,

"Useless huh? Just you being here is enough for me. Kaien Cross." My eyes widened and I looked at her, she was smiling gently.

"Lady (Y/N)? Why do you treat him differently? He's a human. He's not special." A vampire said, trying to reason with her. She walked up to me and placed and hand on my cheek, saying,

"Exactly correct. He's a human. Who's not special.........in your eyes. But this human means the world to me." I closed my eyes and leaned into her hand. A vampire sighed and said,

"It's no use fighting her. She's not only a Pure Blood. She's a hunter. She wouldn't think twice on killing us." One of the other vampires said,

"What?! We were sent here to complete a mission! I plan to complete is!" He looked at me and his eyes turned red. (Y/N) looked at him and glared, saying,

"You. Soon you'll just be another vile level E." With that the vampire went after me and as soon as he was close, (Y/N) killed him.

"Alright, I'll kill every last one of you......if you don't back down." She said, as the vampire that tried to reason with us sighed and said,

"Let's stop this. Even if we do fight her......she'll just kill us. I value my life far too much." The other vampires looked at me and said,

"This defiance.......shall me reported back to the Senate."

"So be it." She murmured, turning back towards me. She smiled at me and I said,

"Don't act as if everything is fine..........when it's not." She looked at me and frowned, saying,

"I just.....want things to stop going bad for us." I caressed her cheek and said,

"Things will.....if you turn me." She pulled away from me and said,

"No! I won't......because if I do.....you'll just end up being my servant. I want you as my lover....not my servant." I looked at her and pulled her into my chest, saying,

"Thank you." She was surprised and she said,

"K-Kaien?"

"What a disgrace to vampires you are, Lady (Y/N)." A voice said, from our side. She pulled away from me and said,

"You dare say that to a Pure Blood, Ichiou?" I looked to my side and saw Takuma's grandfather, Asato Ichijo or Ichiou, as Ichiou said,

"Lady (Y/N)." He knelt down at her feet and said,

"I hope one day I may be blessed by having the permission to drink your blood, Lady (Y/N)." He grabbed her hand and went to kiss it but she glared at him. He stood up and said,

"Please, do forgive my rudene-" She slapped him, hard, and said,

"How dare you show me such disrespect. I thought you knew better than that, Ichiou." He kept his gaze on the ground and said,

"Please forgive me.....Lady (Y/N)." He stood up and looked at me, saying,

"Though, the man you've fallen in love with.....he is such a nuisance." Her eyes widened and he disappeared. I felt a blade to my throat and said,

"Perhaps I should get rid of the nuisance." She narrowed her eyes at him and he flew away from me, whatever he was holding made a deep scratch on my face when he went flying. I flinched and held the cut with one hand. She looked at me wide eyed, but returned her focus on him when I smiled, reassuringly, at her. He was slammed against a tree and the air was knocked out of his lungs. As he regained his composure, (Y/N) grabbed him by his throat and held him against the tree, saying,

"If you send anyone here again, I will not be so merciful." I saw her eyes flash red, she threw him to the ground and glared at him. He growled and left without another word. I saw the sadness in her eyes as she looked up at the sky, holding her hand to her chest. I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her waist, saying,

"They're gone now. Everything is gonna be alright." She wrapped her arms around my torso and said,

"How can you be so sure?" I looked into her eyes and smiled, saying,

"Because I am with you." Her eyes widened and she held onto me tighter. She yawned as I carried her, bridal style, back into the house. As I walked into our room I noticed that (Y/N) had fallen asleep in my arms. I smiled and placed her down on the bed gently. I sighed and said,

"I need to change her into her night clothes. I hope she doesn't hate me for this." I changed her into her nightclothes and laid her back down. I laid down next to her and wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her close to me. Before I fell asleep, I looked at her and smiled, moving her bangs out of her face. I blushed and thought,

'She's adorable. Even when she's fighting.' She shifted in my arms and turned, facing me. Her hair was in her face again. I sighed, falling asleep with her in my arms. Before I fell asleep I saw a small smiled on her face. As sleep took me in I said,

"What're you dreaming about, (Y/N)?"
