Bucky A/U!! You head to a Mexican resort to check it out before your company buys it. Guess who joins you? 😉

I made up the name of the resort, so if there really is place with that name, it's just a co-incidence. The small bit of Spanish in here is from Google translate so if it's off, sorry, I'm Canadian! I haven't been to Mexico in forever and I miss it, especially when the temperature here has been so darn FRIGID!!

"So as of tomorrow, you'll be at the resort then?"

Your boss Nick asked who leaned against the doorframe of your office.

"Yes. I've got all the information I need to scout out the property" you reassured him for what felt like the 100th time.

"Rogers is all ready to accompany you then?"

"Yup. He'll meet me at the airport tomorrow then we'll fly out" you smiled.

You worked for Shield Realty. The company bought struggling businesses, mainly hotels, renovated them, and would either sell them, or keep them under another subsidiary called Fury Hotel Group.

It was like flipping houses, but for large scale hotels, resorts, and some smaller motels and boutique hotels all over North America. There were so many projects you had been doing, it was crazy at how busy you were.

Your division of the company worked on resorts in Mexico. You were lead designer and you were being sent to scope out a potential new property your boss was interested in.

Playa Luna in Mexico was an older resort, built about 40 years ago. It was owned by a family who were looking at selling the property. It had just under 300 rooms all a mixture of suites and standard rooms. You had hoped to expand the property when your company purchased the empty lot next to it and take it to the extreme with a large makeover with bigger pools, more activities, and spa. Your vision board for the resort grew and grew with your new ideas and concepts, so you were excited to go and get a feel for it for a week.

"Good. I know I can count on the two of you to get a good idea of the property. They don't know you're going so you'll blend in nicely with the other tourists. Just do what you would normally do at a resort. I expect a full write up with a preliminary budget when you return"

"Of course" you smiled at him.

Nick nodded then left.

Steve Rogers was the other designer you worked with on most of your projects. He was going to accompany you on this trip as he usually did. You and he were also good friends outside work so you were looking forward to this potential project. You were grateful you were going with him and not James Barnes. James was the head architect of the firm and was, in your words, a giant pain in your butt.

He was relentlessly flirty, and he always annoyed you whenever you had to consult with him on a project. To make matters worse, he was good looking, and he knew it. His dark chestnut hair seemed to sparkle in the sun and his bright blue eyes drew you in whenever he spoke to you. Combine that with a rock-solid body and a 6ft frame, he was a looker.

He was stubborn and treated some of the other designers like garbage but never you. He only teased and flirted with you at every chance he got.

He had money being the head architect and it drove you mad how he acted on job sites with his demanding ways. He only got called in to scout out a potential property if no one else was available so you were grateful Steve was your partner for this project. You glanced once more at your laptop and then packed up for the day, eager to finish packing so you could catch your flight to paradise.
