Your mom stood at the stove and flipped her last pancake, plating it in front of Sophie. You were on your second cup of coffee already while you watched from the island. Sophie bit into her pancake and her eyes rolled back in her head.

"So good Nana!" Sophie whined.

"Nana makes the best pancakes."

You nudged Sophie and she giggled.

"Come on, finish those pancakes then I'll drive you to school before I head home." Your mom tapped Sophie's plate with her fork and Sophie dug in with a smile.

"I'll call you when I get home."

Your mom looked at you.

"Ok. I have some news."

You told her then looked at Sophie then back at her. She seemed to understand and nodded, knowing what it was about. She knew your event last night was for the Blades and that Bucky would be there. You just didn't want to talk to her when Sophie was present.

"Sounds good. Come on Sophie."

Your mom took the empty sticky plate and put it in the dishwasher with the rest of the breakfast utensils.

"Bye mom, see you later!"

Sophie planted a sticky wet kiss on your cheek followed by your mom who you hugged back.

"See you" you waved as the two of them left.

You still had an hour before your appointment, then work so you cleaned up a bit, and got yourself ready for your day.

You walked into your office with your freshly groomed feet, feeling somewhat decent. You slept fine, although you tossed and turned half the night thinking about Bucky, you still felt ok. Seeing Bucky in person brought back a lot of emotions you weren't sure what to do with. Sure, you've seen him on the sports highlights, seen photos of him around town on his numerous dates, but the in-person Bucky is a lot to process, especially with your history.

"Hey Nat."

You walked by her office then plopped yourself down at your desk. She smiled and got up from her desk and walked into your office.

"Hi."

She checked out your toes that were shining bright. You chose a bright flaming red for your toes, a colour that makes you feel good.

"Got a last-minute meeting after lunch."

She pointed to your calendar. You opened it and looked through it.

"Sam Wilson? Who's that?" you asked.

"No idea, but he said he has an event to plan." Nat shrugged.

"Any other details?" you asked, opening your emails.

"Didn't say. Said it was in a month and wanted it to be fun."

"Ok."

You scrunched your nose up and thought about it. Nat held up her hands and laughed.

"I know you're going to ask me how many people, the theme, and budget, but I really don't know any more." She insisted.

You let out a huff and flopped back in your chair.

"Fine."

"Hey boss lady!" Scott poked his head in your office.

"Got some info on new headsets. Sent them to you for approval. Let me know and I'll pick up whatever you want." He gave you a salute then left. Nat shot you a look.
