Dan Heng swam fast towards the surface and his eyes opened up once he saw a big group of sirens singing, as the others were leaping on the galleon to grab the charmed men and throw them into the water.
He tilted his head as he noticed some trying to cover their ears as they were laying at the edge of the galleon. The merman was actually stunned by the big ship, it was still on the water and not like the thausands underwater he used to play hide and seek with the sirens.
Blade tried his best to avoid to give in and let himself be charmed, just like some of his crewmate, but he soon felt his body trembling and dropping his sword as he was walking towards a siren with long red hair and shiny green eyes.
He felt light, he felt caressed by that voice even though at the same time his body was getting shivers the more he was stepping towards the "mermaid" to his eyes.
He knew something was wrong, just like everyone who was charmed.
The mermaids were smiling and Blade didn't even flinch once he noticed one of his crewmates jumping off the galleon to swim with the mermaid who followed him.
Dan Heng reached a rock nearby to sit and hold his mother's necklace "Mommy" his aqua eyes were shining as his tail was resting, moving a little the black water that did shine at the touch with him. His light was overhelming underwater, but all those hungry sirens singing made the fog so thick that even the merman felt confused. He wanted to go back underwater but he wanted his voice to reach those humans in time.
"Oh... you're so beautiful" one of the crewmate held the mermaid who was giggling and walking around him. Behind the veil there was a monster enjoying, playing with his prey, pulling him a little towards the edge of the galleon.
Blade was charmed, he couldn't hear some the crewmates shouting, trying to get off the water once the charm was gone and it was too late. The galleon was meant to fall, and his captain as well along with his whole crew.
It was pure horror.
Then some... echoes... a calm humming that would get enhanced like someone was stepping on the water. Like a clock tickling, underlining the time, the seconds passing. At every ticking, everyone felt thuds in their heart, actual pain and see what was happening around them.
Tides... Tides... Time... Time..
Blade and some of the crew felt dizzy like they just woke up from an horrible nightmare. They noticed how their ship was about to literally crash against a big rock, where some mermaids were singing still. But it felt like those voices were slowly getting lower, even stopping.
"Damn, sirens!" Blade did wobble, feeling his head totally dizzy because of their damn voice. But a warm humming... something was different now, there weren't many voices anymore.
Just one, echoing in the whole sea.
Oh...Tides, Tides
Blade looked around as he noticed how some corals were shining of a blue light and sounds were coming off it, just like they were responding to the voice... it wasn't warm but Blade and the pirates felt no more their heads dizzy... It felt like a good sea breeze, healing their charmed souls
The pirates felt like trembling as it looked like the mermaids and mermen they had in front, naked, beautiful, tempting.. slowly their faces would change... their skin wouldn't look as bright as their ethereal form but... full of broken scales... rotten skin, with some seashells pierced in the body, long and sharp nails, just like the teeth... those of a shark and the eyes... The eyes looked empty, scary, like they were sucking their life energy with just a stare.
