13. I Hate You!

Dan Heng was crying at the sight of his mother in front of him.

She was singing as she was kept inside a big magic vessel of water. Her tail was pierced, her shoulders and hands as well. She was literally immobile, the only thing she could do was singing.

"Mommy..." Dan Heng's legs did tremble "Help... I help!" he was so carried by the emotion to see his mother to elaborate whatever was happening around him.

Blade was panting, trying so hard not to fall and groan in pain as her voice was destroying his brain. The mermaid was... wasn't like Dan Heng.

Actually, that was a weird siren to Blade's eyes. Her skin looked like... a failed experiment. Literally it had many scars and signs of bruises. The skin wasn't anything closer to Dan Heng's, the hair were long but even underwater they were dark, made of ashes.

"What... your mother? She's not your mother, can't you see?!" Blade exclaimed as he opened up his eyes once the mermaid looked at him, singing even louder like she was whispering to kneel.

Kneel.

Blade gnashed his teeth as he found himself on the ground. His ears were bleeding and those red eyes were focus on Dan Heng who effortlessly managed to breach the magic vessel.

Dan Heng was sure he was seeing his mother, maybe it was the song? Blade started to fear maybe Vea was corrupted somehow.

"Vea won't ever hurt humans! You said you love us, then why am I bleeding?!" Blade shouted and Dan Heng blocked for a moment. He opened up his eyes, feeling his own heart confused. Why was that grumpy clownfish bleeding from those ears? His mother had even a better voice than his..

"Mommy... Why are you hurting... Oh!" Dan Heng turned and smiled at Blade, who drew the foil to use it as support to stand up "She's hurting, she... help! I help!" he exclaimed.

Dan Heng opened up his eyes when Blade reached out for his wrist "Don't get any closer! It's not your mother!"

Dan Heng's eyes were seeing his poor mother's tail pierced and her aqua hair shining. Those blue eyes were locked on him with such a comforting smile and aura. The merman pushed a little Blade "No! Mommy! She's mum! LEAVE!" he pushed him and Blade fell on the ground

"You're such an idiot, pretty face, she's ugh..." Blade covered his ears, feeling dizzy and awfully tired "She's a monster, she doesn't look anything like you! She's UGLY" he shouted and Dan Heng opened a bit his lips confused.

"Ugly?" Dan Heng opened up his eyes. No human would ever say that to his mother. How could he dare to say that in front of him! Dan Heng got once again distracted when Vea was singing slowly. Her eyes were closed the whole time like she was under a spell "No... she's... beautiful! Mum! I help I help!" he shouted as he breached once again the magic vessel to hold the spears piercing her tail to keep her still.

Blade opened up his eyes when Dan Heng effortlessly threw the spears on the ground. Blade felt shivers when he saw the mermaid moving her tail with some scales falling like they were... attached to it.

Those blue scales weren't hers.

"DAN HENG! SHE'S NOT YOUR MOTHER!" Blade managed to summon his last strenght to stand up and reach Dan Heng. He grabbed his arms to stop him from freeing also the arms but it was too late.

Dan Heng turned with his eyes teary "Why do you want me to be away from mommy" he cried "She needs... help.. Help!" he cried as he pushed him once again on the ground.
