Annie had to push herself out of bed that day. The cut on her leg got treated, but her bruise looked even worse. No foundation could completely hide it. But still it was her only option. The morning was the same as usual. Kazuo was nowhere to be found. Which Annie was thankful for but also confused. Darlene decided to drive Annie, because she claimed she had to run some errands after dropping her off.

"Bye Annie. Take care." Darlene waved. "You too, bye." Annie muttered, so low that Darlene barely heard. Tigris and Coriolanus greeted Annie outside. The older girl gave Annie a quick side hug, before going arm in arm with her cousin. Annie sat outside waiting for Aden. He came a few minutes later. The siblings walked in together but seperated soon. Aden walked over to his fellow workers, while Annie went to her seat.

"Wakey wakey my capitol friends," Lucky's voice
echoed through the speakers. "I'm Lucky Flickerman, and welcome to day number two! Of the tenth annual Hunger Games. Now while most of you were getting your beauty sleep last night something happened. Bobbin, from district eigth, slaughtered. Which of these beast slayed Bobbin from district eigth. Either way doesn't matter. Ten tributes remain. Reaper, still on top of the board." Lucky's voice faded in Annie's ears as she instead turned her attention to Lysistrata.

"They aren't showing us what happened to that little boy," she said. "He clearly was killed right there, there's cameras everywhere. It doesn't make sense." Annie looked up at Coriolanus, remembering yesterdays events. "They said they were old cameras Lyssie. Probably just another one of Coral's." Festus Creed chimed in, looking rather proud. "Festus, sit down. Same seats."

They all sat down and watched the screen. It shifted to Lucy Gray and Jessup. The boy was twitching and groaning. In worry, Lucy Gray put her hand to his forehead, checking his temperature. But he flinched and backed away. His mouth bubbled and he shot forwards. Lucy Gray stumbled away and out of their hiding spot. "What did you do to me?" Jessup shouted while following her. "Lyssie— What is he doing?" Coriolanus rose from his seat.

"Something's wrong. He wouldn't turn on her like that." Lysistrata also got up standing next to Coriolanus. Jessup fell to the ground and Lucy Gray kept running. Annie was amazed by how she did it all in heels. The girl climbed up some rocks that used to be a part of the roof but that had fell during the bombing.

Jessup was quick and catched up to her easily. "Wait look. Foam. I think it's rabies." Coriolanus said. When looking at Jessup Annie was sure Coriolanus was right. "That bite. From the train." Lysistrata remembered. "Send him water" Coriolanus told her.

"What?"

"You remember the posters from the war. Rabies, it makes you afraid of water. Send him a drone."

"To scare him?"

"Yes. Away from her. Jessup is done. Lyssie, you're the only one who can get it right to him."

Lysistrata hesitated but soon clicked on her communi pad. "Thank you." Coriolanus let out a breath. "Nothing to be proud of." Lysistrata stated. Annie felt bad for her. She cared for Jessup, but there was nothing she could do for him. The drone with water was now flying into the arena. Lucy Gray barely ducked the flying object in time. It collided with Jessup, and the glass shattered. The boy looked down at the water for a split second before starting to scream. Soon he lost his balance and fell. He landed on his back with a crack.

"Jessup," Lucy Gray stammered. "Jessup." she said sliding down to him. Her knees dropped to the floor. "I'm not going anywhere, okay?" the girl whispered assuredly. "You watched over me, now I'm watching over you. Sleep now Jessup. Sleep." tears dropped down her face as she stared at her district partner. "Oh," she shakily said as she closed his eyes.

The buzzer sounded and Lysistrata walked out with tears filling her eyes as well. A noise made Lucy Gray's head shoot up. She got up before stumbling away. But the pack had surrounded her. "Lucy Gray," Tanner taunted. "Stay right there." Treech smirked pointing his axe at her.
