Today is my official day on Beverley Highs football team. I could say I'm excited but I also can't because I don't know if I will be able to actually play because of how far I live. Coach Baker asked me if I could live with him but I don't know if my mom will let me.

"Yo what's good Spence?" Jordan says as he walks up to me "wassup?" I say letting out a nervous chuckle. "Come kn let me introduce you to the team" he says walking with me to the field. " aye guys let me get you yall attention" Jordan says as I just stand there. "This is spencer and he is a new wide receiver on our team so everybody clap it up" Jordan say as they do as they say and clap for me.

"Hey I'm JessieJohn but I like being called JJ" JJ says as I nod my head. "MY name is asher and that is chris" asher saysas I shake both of their hands. "Uh it's nice to meet you guys" I saw awkwardly " I'm from Crenshaw and I am  in love with football so I'll be a great addition to yalls team and plus I carried my team to state finals last year" I say as they all raise an eyebrow.

"Alright get started on yall stretching before we get on that field" coach Baker says. We all nod our heads and get our water bottles for the run around the whole school we are about to do. "I want yall to run around the whole school twice then come back" coach Baker says. We get started on the run and then as we finish he adds another two because one of the players weren't running.

By the time we finish the run practice is already over and we have to go home. "Spencer let me talk to you real quick" coach Baker says as I walk over to him "have you considered the thought about moving into my house?" He asked me "I have but I have to ask my mom first like I said" I said and he nodded his head. "Well when you tell your mother tell her give me a call" he says as I raise my eyebrow " just so I can tell her the address so she can bring you over" he said and I nod my head 'yes'.

Meeting the new kid today was really exciting. I feel like he was definitely best friend material and I hope we can make it to that stage. Right now me and my team are practicing our cheer for the upcoming football game this Saturday. "Lucy and Keylea are going to demonstrate since they are the only ones who actually practiced" I say getting annoyed with this this team. I watch Lucy and Kaylea do the cheer and they nail it so all I need now is the girls to do the same.

"5...6....7....8...." I say as I watch the girls finally get it. Our head coach walks out and tells us some surprising news. "Okay girls it time we talk" coach Kyarah says as we all look at each other. " Well what is it" one of the girls say as we all agree "I am resigning my position as head cheer coach" coach Kyarah states as we all have a surprised look on our face.

"What do you mean you are resigning?....you can't resign" I say as all the girls agree with me. " my grandmother has passed away and we need to go to the funeral..... I also have to stay their with my mother because she had an heart attack last night so I just thought why not live out there" coach Kyarah says. "We're so sorry" we all say In a usion "wait does this mean that we can't participate in the biggest game of the whole season?" Another girl states.

"Okay course yall can why would yall think that?" coach Kyarah says " because we need a coach" I say as she looks over at me. "That's why yall get sub coach's for times like this" she says as the gym teacher walks in.

If life literally can't get any worse I say in my head as all of the girls groan.

As I reach the steps of my house I think about ways I could ask my mom. I walk in and see her sitting on the couch watching TV here goes nothing.

"Hey ma'" I say with a nervous face as she turns around "Hey baby what's wrong?" She asked me as I walk over and sit down on the couch. " ma can I ask you something?" I say "yeah of course baby" she states. "So coach Baker asked me if I could move into his house so I could be close to school and so i can play on their football team." I say as she takes what i say in. "He doesn't even know you and he wants you to move in?" She says and I nod my head 'Yes'. "Please mom if I move their I will keep my grades up and plus you won't have to bring me to school" I say and she just looks at me.

"Fine you can go but if I see anything under a C- then your coming right back here.... you hear me.?" She says and I bring her into a hug and as I break the hug I give her coach bakers number so she can call him.

Yall I'm writing this half sleep but anyways let's get back to the regular schedule program...
