THE APARTMENT OF ALBERT DESMOND
4:00 PM LOCAL TIME

Robin looked around the apartment. Art was scattered everywhere, the apartment reeked of cigarettes and spoiled food.

"It looks like he left in a hurry," Superboy said looking at the mess of the apartment.

"Maybe he got some visitors?" Surge looked at a painting that he didn't know the name of.

"Maybe... it looks like he just dropped everything and left though..." Kid Flash examined his medication.

"This painting is hideous," Surge sneered pointing to the painting and looking at his sister.

It was a painting of the sun shining through a tree, shadows against the woods were the shapes of people. Kid Flash walked over and looked at the painting. Something was soothing about the painting. It was the sight you would see if you woke up to see a sunrise in a cabin in Vermont.

"I kinda like it," Nightstar said from behind Kid Flash and Surge.

"Oh yeah, me too I think it's great," Surge said quickly.

Robin snorted at his fast-changing opinion.

"I think it's kinda soothing ya know? Like you can just stare at it for a really long time and fall into the scene," Nightstar commented tilting her head to the side to look at the painting from a different angle.

Kid Flash titled her head as well.

"Are you guys done being art critiques ?" Robin asked snapping his fingers to get their attention.

Surge, Kid Flash, and Nightstar turned around to look at him.

"We need some type of plan to find him do-"

Nightstar and Superboy looked to the door. They heard something the others didn't. They flew out the door in unison.

An old woman was struggling to open her apartment door.

"Excuse me, ma'am, do you need help?" Superboy asked from behind her.

She turned and looked up at the teen superheroes.

"My, my, children these days are certainly getting tall." She pushed her glasses up her nose with her free hand.

"Would you like some help?" Superboy asked once more gently.

"Oh! yes, that would be so lovely!" The old woman smiled and handed Superboy her groceries and opened the door.

"Such a strong young boy you are!" The old woman led them inside.

"He sure is," Nightstar giggled floating behind the older woman.

"Ma'am, can we ask you about your neighbor? Albert Desmond." Nightstar asked as Superboy put the old woman's groceries away.
