We ran out of the train and into the woods that were near the tracks. Hayes guided me deeper into the woods.

I was still emotionally and mentally unstable because of what I had just went through.

Hayes got a text so he stopped walking "Nash gave us directions to our next location." "Ok. Where is it?" "Iowa."

Is he serious?

"Why? What's there?" "The guy that was on the train's apartment is there." "Well, how are we gonna get there?"

"We could get a car." He shrugged "How about call a cab." I suggested "Or we could walk." "No, something realistic... Like calling a cab." "But we're in the middle of nowhere and we need to get there fast." "So finding a car in the middle of nowhere, hot-wiring it, then finding a way around is faster?"

"Could you, uhh... Look up taxi cab numbers?" He asked awkwardly "Sure. Look up a way out of here." "Ok." He sighed

I looked up numbers and found a few so I just screen-shorted them and slipped my phone in my pocket.

I looked around and saw that the sun was starting to set. "Hayes. It's starting to get dark."

"Yep, and I don't have any phone service Or anything."

"So now we just walk around until we find an exit in the forest?" "Umm.." "Why didn't we just stay on the stupid train?" I asked, very frustrated "Because his other friends would be there to pick him up." "Ugh. Why do you always think like three steps ahead of what's actually happening? Why don't you just wing-it at least once?"

"Because 'winging-it' isn't gonna help us survive." I rolled my eyes and just continued walking.

We walked around for a few more hours and came to a road, and my feet, back, and legs ached so bad.

I heard a car engine behind us and looked back to see a set of bright headlights. We both stepped to the side of the ride and the car stopped a few feet away us. Hayes put me on the other side of him and continued to cautiously walk the road, looking over his shoulder every few seconds.

Two men hopped out of each side of the rusty pickup truck. "Hey kids, do you know the directions into town?" One of them asked in a deep, hoarse voice. Hayes ignored them and walked faster, so I guess they just got back in their car then drove off.

A few minutes later we approached the same pickup truck. I looked up at Hayes with a confused look and he gave me the same one back.

I saw a hand grab Hayes and right before I could help him someone grabbed my by the back of my shirt collar.

"Run!" He yelled before getting his mouth covered up with a white cloth. I ran right out of my jacket. I sprinted down the dirt road and could hear the man's loud footsteps right behind me.

I ran into the woods, thinking it would be a good idea because it's dark and there are lots of places to hide, but then I remembered every horror story ever made.

I ran until I stopped at a small drop off. It had a rough, rocky terrain, and I was pretty much trapped.

I looked back and saw him charging at me. I stood there petrified until I finally got the guts to move.

He tripped over a tree root that stuck up from the ground and rolled straight down the steep, rocky hill. I cringed at the sight; I could hear rocks and twigs snap under him.

I couldn't watch anymore, so I turned around and ran back out of the woods.

I saw the truck in sight, but no guy. I slowly walked over to the car and looked around.
