When I arrived at the airport in LA Jack J. Was there to pick me up.

"Hey Danica." He said with a kind smile "Hey." I smiled back. "How was your flight." "It was fine." I shrugged

"Nash said we would go back to try to settle everything with the police and Hayes." "Okay. Is he still where he was yesterday." "Yeah." He sighed

"I feel so bad." "Why?" "I feel like I caused Hayes to be in jail right now." "It wasn't your fault. It wasn't anyone's fault really. We're gonna get Hayes out of there though." I nodded and we started walking out to the car.

Jack got into the front seat and I got into the back. Jack G. Looked back at me from the drivers seat and smiled "Hey Danica." "Hi." "What's wrong?" He asked with a concerned look on his face. "Nothing. I'm just tired." "Ok." He said then turned around

When we finally arrived at the house, it was 10:00 and I was half asleep.

Once I dropped my stuff down on my floor and plopped down in my bed, Collin texted me.

Mom and dad just got home and are asking where you've been.- Collin

I took a deep breath then called him.

Danica's POV

"Hey Danica." "Hey Collin."

"Is that Danica?" I heard a faint voice ask

"Yeah."

"Put me on speaker." She said

I walked outside and sat down in the chair.

"Danica. Where the hell are you!?" I heard my dad yell.

"I'm in LA, where I want to be." I said "No. Get back here. You're leaving Tom--" "I'm not leaving anywhere. This is where I'm staying. This is where I'm loved, this is where I feel safe, and this is where I feel wanted." "Danica you can't leave. You're not old enough to live with this person that I bet you barley even know." "Yes I am. I'll be 18 next month. He has a nice house and is very kind to me," I said annoyed "And I do know him. As I told you, He's a very good friend of mine." I lied

Collin's POV

"No. You can't leave us. You're apart of this family, and it's staying that way." My mom demanded

"Kennedy, let's be real. You don't love me. You love my dad. I know because you can't stand me and somehow you do," She reached for the phone, but I snatched it back

"What were you saying?" I asked "She uses me.. Constantly. She lies to my dad, puts my ass on the line, and is just the worst person I have ever met. I've kept it in for two years for my dad's sake of happiness" She sighed and continued "I'm sorry, dad. I've just never found true happiness in our family. I'm glad you did, I just didn't. This is better for me. I'll always be apart of the family, just a little farther than anyone else. I love you guys." She hung up.

I looked up at my mom and dad; Chris was crying into his hands and my mom had just stormed out the room.

The truth would come out eventually.

Danica's POV

I hung up the phone and took a deep breath.

I sat back in the chair and set down my phone.

my best friend is staying in Hayes Grier's neighborhood.

I was so excited when I found out but kind of sad because she's probably gonna live my dream of meeting Hayes.

She just found out about him, too.

I've known about him Eversince he was in Nash's YouNow video with Will and Hayes.

If she does get to meet him I guess I'll be happy because she's my best friend, but I just can't truly feel happy.
