Hayes' POV

I woke in Danica's room with my arms still wrapped around her.

I carefully got up without waking her up and walked back to my room.

I grabbed my phone from the charger and checked my messages.

Matt texted me telling me we need milk, eggs, bread, and Nutella.

I texted him back telling him that I would go to the store in a little bit.

I took a shower and changed into black jeans, a white t-shirt, and black Vans.

As I was walking towards the stairs, I passed Danica's room.

She was sitting on the balcony, just embracing the sun, as usual.

I think it's kind of cool that instead of sitting in bed all day or staring at her phone screen, she chooses to sit outside and listen to music while looking at the beautiful nature surrounding the area.

At least that's how I see it.

I continued what I was doing and went down to the garage and left to go to the store.

Danica's POV

I woke up feeling like something was missing.

I sat up and noticed the light was off. I guess someone turned it off.

I got up and went to the bathroom.

After I took care of my business I walked out onto the balcony and sat down in the chair.

I didn't turn on music or anything, I just sat there contemplating everything that's happened ever since I got 'kidnapped'

I'm happy that I'm out of danger, as far as I'm concerned, and that I'm loved here, but I also kind of miss home. I miss Collin and the time I spent with him. I know it's been a little under two years, but he's the best brother I could ever ask for, and my best friend.

My phone buzzed, snapping me out of my thoughts.

Have you told them about what happened yet?- Collin

Yeah.- Danica

I had to lie. I didn't want him to worry too much because knowing him, he's already worried.

What did they say?- Collin

Hey said they would take care of it.- Danica

K. And dad says hi.- Collin

Tell him I said hi and I love and miss him- Danica

I set my phone down and took a deep breath in and let it out.

My dad.

Oh lord, my dad.

My first real best friend, my basketball coach, caregiver, role model- my dad

And I might never see him again.

My phone buzzed again.

Do you want a smoothie from smoothie King?-Hayes

Sure- Danica

What kind?- Hayes

Berry punch- Danica

K. I'll be back soon, babe- Hayes

He called me babe. I'm babe😊

I shouldn't tell them about what happened.

Everything is going so well and I don't want to ruin it. Plus they don't even know where we are, we're in a secluded area. What could go wrong?

I know that's a bad thing to say, but I don't want to be like Hayes and think two steps ahead.

It was 8:00 and the sun was starting to set. I've been laying around the house the whole day- being a lazy bum.

I've been sitting on the balcony outside of my room for about twenty minutes now.

I don't have anything better to do anyways. Plus it's relaxing to look at the scenery.

"Man, you love to sit out here, don't you?"

I looked back and Hayes was leaning in the doorway of the sliding, glass doors.

"Yep. It's better than sitting inside, watching tv." I said "Yeah, the nature out here is beautiful."

"What do you usually do up here?" He Asked "just.. Admire nature." I shrugged "What do you like most?" He asked

"The sunrises and sunsets," he nodded in agreement "I mean, they each happen once everyday, and it's a blessing that we get a chance to see them." "yeah, I should do this sometime."

Sorry for the late update and short chapter. Last night when I got back from Six Flags my cousins went swimming, and I got back home at like 12:00 so I was hella tired.
