The walk back to camp was quiet, the silence only broken by thunder in the distance. The clouds above Wolfstar were beating, full of water.

When they arrived at the camp, they were blocked by curious felines. Wolfstar did his best as he described what happened, calming his warriors and himself as he said that everything would be fine.

"Shellstar was killed!" Sparrowwing meowed, hiding her kits with her tail. "What stops Mountainstar from coming here and killing you too?"

Meows resonated in the camp, agreeing with her words. Thunder drowned out Wolfstar's words, making him have to repeat himself. "We won't let Mountainstar attack us," He looked at every cat gathered. "Let's work together and end this war."

Morningcloud padded forward. "StarClan gave us that prophecy for one reason: to prevent it. The StarClan is on our side, and will help us in difficult times!"

The cats looked at each other, and for a few heartbeats, the only sound was the strong wind. The sky was getting darker and darker, and soon a storm would arrive.

Silvercreek stared up at the sky, meowing softly. "StarClan no longer walks with us."

Wolfstar followed the elder's gaze, fixing his yellow eyes on the dark, heavy clouds in the sky. Sharpear shifted beside him uncomfortably. After the death of his former apprentice, the deputy ended up creating a fear of storms.

Wolfstar passed his tail along the deputy's side, comforting him. "Everything will be fine."

Treestripe finally made himself present, emerging from the warriors' den with wide eyes. "Where is Salmonnose?"

The cats looked at each other again, looking for the gray warrior. Wolfstar narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"

"He was here a little while ago!" Treestripe whipped his tail nervously. "But he was acting strange... and he disappeared!"

"Look for him!" Wolfstar spat, signaling to his warriors.

They searched the entire camp, checking every den and bush. Sharpear and Tinypaw took a walk outside the camp, but came back with empty paws. "I couldn't even smell him."

"We have to find him, Wolfstar!" Treestripe could not bear the weight of losing his former apprentice.

"I know!" Wolfstar whipped his tail, staring at the ground as he thought. His warriors circled him once again, meowing nervously, fearing for the warrior.

"Is he in trouble?'

"Maybe he's trapped in the field."

"What if Mountainstar killed him?"

Wolfstar suddenly raised his head, searching through the crowd of fur. "Brownpaw!"

Upon hearing the leader's scream, the apprentice chickened out, trying to leave slowly. Wolfstar approached, his shadow looming over his small form. "Tell me where he is!" He growled, causing Brownpaw to lie down against the ground. "Come on!"

"He's just an apprentice!" Amberleaf growled back, pulling Wolfstar away from her son. "Let him alone!"

"He doesn't know anything, Wolfstar," Snakefang meowed next to his mate.

Wolfstar looked at the kit, then at his parents. "And you, Snakefang? Do you know where your brother is?"

Before answering anything, Salmonnose invaded the camp, practically destroying the tunnel with the force he used. The cats that were nearby were scared, jumping up and raising their furs.
