The dogs pounced on the cats, most of them stunned for only a heartbeat, before bravely fighting back. The hisses and battlecries quickly grew until Tangletuft guessed all the cats around the lake could hear them.

But that was only a hyperbole. No other Clan would come to help them. They would have to face this challenge alone.

As a dog swung a messy blow at her, she dodged its huge mouth before darting under the monster and swiping at his stomach. The black and brown dog yowled before he kicked the warrior, sending her flying and landing with a hard thump. But the dog scurried away leaving Tangletuft confused.

"Coward." She spat quietly, turning now towards more battle.

Grainwhisker, Dapplepelt and Gorsewhisker guarded the nursery now. They began hissing and throwing their paws filled of claws at the dogs.

Cloudpelt, the oldest elder of WindClan -whom Tangletuft had barely noticed her whole life- fought like the youngest warriors in the battle, his limbs were free and strong as he defeated several dogs. Grasspelt on the other hand was found in the elders den with Sunstripe and Heatherfang guarding.

"Cobrapaw! Mistpaw!" Graystar choked out through the battle cries "Go get ThunderClan!"

As the two apprentice ran for the exit of camp, a dog stopped their path, snarling with its disgusting drooling mouth. It looked as though their world was in slow motion as the dog snapped at them, but another yowl of pain was heard.

It wasn't the apprentices, it was Seedpelt, WindClan's deputy. The deputy fell to floor, letting out struggled gasps as scarlet blood seeped from his neck.

Tangletuft wanted to help, but another dog pounced onto her and she was forced to take her eyes off of the dying deputy.

The male dog snapped at her, aiming blows towards her neck and head but she quickly dodged and as she squeezed out of the canine's grip she pounced forward, raking her claws down the dog's side.

The mean animal moved back and before it could regain itself, Tangletuft pounced forward again, fighting as a rogue would've. They were only dogs after all.

With one final blow to the face the dog turned on its heels and clumsily ran out the door of camp.

With simple breaths lost around her, Tangletuft looked around panting. She watched her struggling Clanmates with fear.

Rustlestep fought against one of the biggest dogs in a fierce battle nearly knocking over the fight beside them as they engaged in a life or death battle for both of them.

Close by, Heavypaw and Stormpaw fought against a smaller dog. This dog had odd features. It seemed different from the rest. The rest had dark black fur with tinges of brown. They were all huge. But this one. This one had a wrinkled expression and tan skin with almost no fur at all. Odd.

Cobrapaw and Mistpaw were nowhere to be seen. The last time Tangletuft had seen them was when their deputy Seedpelt had ended his-

"Tangletuft!" She felt lightheaded as she heard her name being called. She frantically spun around, trying to find the cat that had called her. "Tangletuft get over here!"

Her eyes quickly locked onto Rabbitfoot. It was him that was calling her? But he wasn't hurt. Why did he need to talk to her at a moment like this?

But she suppressed the thought before nearing Rabbitfoot and staring him dead in the eyes "Can't you see I'm trying to defend my Clan?" She impatiently meowed. Suddenly a dog battling Foxgaze blew right behind her, making the fur on the back on her neck rise.
