Third Person POV (Tavish)
Tavish watched with a smile as each of his men came up to introduce themselves to Y/n. They were all gentle with the tiny borrower, doing their best to make her feel safe and welcomed here. It was clear to Tavish that Y/n wasn't used to being around those who were bigger than she was. Though he was tempted to rub the top of her head with his finger to reassure her, this was her second time being held by a human and he didn't want to push her boundaries.
"So, how many more of you are there?" Jane asked. "If there are more, that is.
"B-besides my family, I don't know." Y/n said, still feeling unsure.
"How many people are in your family?"
"There's my mother, father, my older brother and me."
"Wow. That's a small family, no pun intended." Jeremy remarked, though some of others chuckled.
"Borrower families only have one or two children. More children mean more mouths to feed, which means borrowing more things and that will make the human beans suspicious." Y/n explained.
"Doesn't your kind worry about plague?" Ludwig, the keep's doctor, asked.
Tavish could tell that Y/n didn't know what he was talking about.
"He's asking if borrowers get sick." He explained.
"We do, but I haven't heard of a borrower who has died from illness." Y/n responded.
"What I want to know," Jane said, "Is why did you decide to live in a place that armies are fighting a war over?"
"I'm sorry, a war?" The borrower asked.
"Remember when I mentioned my brother, lass? Well he and I are fighting over who is going to be the laird of the Keep and the surrounding land. My father made me his heir, but my brother Angus thinks that he should be in charge." Tavish said.
"I-I didn't notice." Y/n admitted. "I was so busy trying to survive."
"I don't blame yeh. If Angus succeeds in claiming power, many of the common folk will suffer. He doesn't think kindly of those he deems 'beneath him', even someone as tiny as you. But don't worry lass. Me and my mates will do anything to protect yeh if yeh decide to stay."
