Chapter 6

First Person POV (Y/n)

What were you thinking y/n?! I thought to myself as Tavish carried me. For all you know, they'll treat you like you're a rat!

I looked up at Tavish nervously. He gave me a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry lass," He said. "My mates will love yeh. Now they might be a bit loud, but they mean well."

He carried me over to a room with a large table. Many human beans were sitting at the table drinking, joking around and laughing.

It must be nice to have to fun with others. I thought. 

"Tavish!" One of the men shouted merrily. He then proceeded to toss a bottle at him, which he caught.

"Thanks mate." Tavish responded as he approached the table. "Lads, have someone special to introduce you to."

All of the humans turned to look at me.

"Who is that little lady?" Someone asked.

"This is Y/n." Tavish said. "She's going to stay for awhile."

A human then approached me and got down to my eye level. He was huge, even larger than Tavish.

"Where did you come from, little one?" He asked with a thick accent.

"I-I came from the walls." I stammered, not knowing how to explain.

"Why is little one here?" The man continued to question me.

"I'm a borrower." I explained. "I had to stay hidden in order to to survive."

"And why did you have to stay hidden?"

"Because I don't know what would happen if I was found. I was terrified when your leader found me."

I tried not to show any fear to the bean, but I couldn't stop shaking. After he looked at me for a few seconds, he gave me a gentle smile.

"My name is Mikhail. Friends call me Misha. You are friend now."

"Th-thank you sir– I mean Misha." I said.

"Alright lass, why don't we let yeh meet the rest of the team." Tavish suggested.

Though I was still unsure, I agreed.
