You can't tell me this story isn't getting a little good, I've gone off the rails a bit with it..I know its semi-rushed but when the ideas flow my fingers type. -AN

"What is it?" She turned back to Landon with a panicked look, she stood outside the Old Mill. Her ears glanced past the many heart beats. Her only focus was on Landon, on why he rushed her here. His face began to light up. "..Why are you smiling?"

"Suprise !" They all shouted, jumping from the shadows.

"Happy 19th, Mikaelson" Penelope smirked, blowing out the singular candle on the girls cupcake. "What.."

"Theres drinks inside if you need them" Landon chuckled, laying his hand on the girls shoulder.

She was still in shock, she wasn't really in much of a mood for a celebration. Especially not when it consisted of a birthday that consisted of her long graduating a school which she just started. A age that she'd never really reach, no matter how adult it sounded she was still that little girl she was when she was turned at the ripe age of 16.

"Is everything okay?" The ravenette took a step closer, looking into the auburnettes eyes. "I wasn't expecting this."

"It was Jojo's idea. Like Landon said, theres drinks inside. She also invited your pack"

Raf parted from Mayas side, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "I hope this isn't too much"

"You with Maya? Or this party?"

He chuckled "The party"

"Its a little extravagant." She shrugged, picking up a drink. "Hey, do you know where Josie is?"

He gave her a sly smirk. "You're future wife?"

"You heard."

"Things spread like wild fire around here, shes on the roof." He pointed upwards. "Don't scold her, Penelope already did enough of that earlier this evening" He pointed out. "She just wanted to make up for her mistakes."

"Don't worry" She patted the boys back. "Thanks Raf" She began to walk away but stopped before the ladder. "Oh and Raf, you treat her well." She flashed her golden eyes. "Or I'll do much worse to you"

She went up the ladder, finding herself on the roof of the Old Mill, Jo was sitting at the edge watching over everything she had inspired. "Why arent you down at the party?" The auburnette asked, Jo turned around. A small smile appearing on her face. "I could ask you the same thing"

"You know parties arent really my scene" Hope said, claiming her spot next to the girl on the roof. "Call it a small get together, just with friends and family" Jo retorted, looking down to her solo cup. Hope sighed, running out of the small things to conversate about. Her and Josie hadn't talked much, not since what went down and any time they did talk it was more of an argument. Nothing like this, nothing that involved being under a dark sky at 11PM.

"I heard about Penelope, I never asked her to snap at you—I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you"

Jo moved her hair behind her hair. "I know that"

"Jo !" Lizzie came pushing through the party, Hope knew exactly what it would be about. "You should go, its important" She suggested, taking a sip of her drink.

"No, she can wait." She shook her head. "For once I know whats important"

Hope furrowed her brows. "What do you mean?"

The brunette took hold of her necklace. "Remember when you gave me this?"

"You still wear it.."

"You said it was to make quiet things heard..." She lead on with a small smile. "I think I'm hearing what has been too quiet to understand."

She took hold of Hopes hand. "You told me you loved me once, is that still true?"

The auburnettes cheeks grew red. "Yes."

They smiled at eachother, the brunette was the first to lean in. "Josie this is important" The blonde shouted, throwing a ball of paper at the girl and pulling the two away from eachother.

"Lizzie, I'm in the middle of something."

"Dads been keeping a secret, Hopes been keeping a secret. They all have" She pointed out. "One of us is going to die when we're 22"

Jo backed away from the Tribrid, sort've stunned. "What?"

Hope held her head down, knowing where this would lead. "The merge.."

"You knew about this?" She snapped, looking to Hope for answers. "Alaric asked me to keep it a secret"

Lizzie shook her head. "I need your help, we need to talk to Kai."

"What?! You promised you wouldn't go back there !" Hope turned to face the blonde, furious. "No, actually. I didn't. You asked me not to and I didn't listen. He's the only one who will willingly help us. I won't let my sister or I die before we can really live" She took Josies hand, pulling her away.

"This is a dangerous road you're going down, Lizzie. And nothing good is going to come from it." She pointed out, following the two. "I don't care !" She shouted, the whole room turned towards the three. "What is she talking about?" Jo asked, jumping in the middle.

"She knows our uncle, they have history back from her crazy days. Its nothing, hes locked away and he can't hurt anyone."

"You can't do this"

"I can do whatever the hell I want."

"Hes tried to kill you both since you were babies ! If you tell him you're a live he'll only repeat the cycle. You're a threat !" She began to shout, her voice still calm and composed just slightly raised with caution signs all around it.

"He can't hurt us in there" Lizzie pointed out. "You don't have to worry."

Hope shook her head, deciding it was better to apeal to Jo's humanity instead of Lizzie insanity. "Jo, you know this is wrong. Don't do this"

"I don't want to die.." She pointed out, slightly sad that this is how her and Hope were going to end. That maybe they weren't meant to have a happy ending. That this wasn't the universe they'd get to be together in. "You wont, you know I wouldn't let that happen. I care too deeply about you"

"You lied" She looked to the floor. "I don't know that I could trust your word again."

"But I never lied about loving you" She took a deep inhale. "You can trust that, I can't lose anyone else. I wont."

"Then maybe shes not the one for you" Lizzie intruded. "Because you can't save everyone."

She looked to the floor, knowing Lizzies words were honest. She couldn't save everyone, no matter how hard she tried. Lives were lost in her hands, and she was nothing but a magnet to death and departure.

"I'll let you know when we get back, okay?" Jo smiled lightly at the girl, still sort've upset about the lie but she understood it..at some level.

Hope grabbed her arm as she turned around. "Promise me, you'll be cautious. Hes not what he seems. You can't trust him"

"I promise"

Honestly this went nothing like how I planned..I just ran with it. We'll see where it goes from here, lets hope they dont let Kai in. -AN2
