It took a while but in no time Johanna had managed to break down her walls and get to know Daphne. She found herself enjoying Johanna's presence, finding similarities of her own mother with her.
"So I was wondering what your plans were this Sunday?" Jay asked as they were seated in a small cafe.
"Well I was going to having a rousing marathon of Murder She Wrote, why?"
She noted the look on Johanna's face.
"Well how about you come over for dinner, I'm just sure the girls would love you!"
Oh no.
Bloody hell why.
Now she had to explain and with explaining came understanding which brought pity.
Daphne hated nothing more than pity.
"I uhm can't." Jay gave her a confused look but nodded as if telling her to continue.
"You see I moved here from London with my sister and grandfather after my parents were killed in a car accident last year so I can't really leave the two alone seeing as they clash quite a bit."
Johanna reached her hand out and squeezed Daphne's shaking one on the table.
"You know they can come too."
