You poked your head into TWICE's practice room, "hey girls," you said, announcing your presence.

The girls greeted you and Jihyo only gave you a small smile. You walked into the room and closed the door behind you. The girls were just taking a break from practicing and judging by how they were panting hard, their water break only just started.

"Jihyo, can I talk to you?" You walked over to Jihyo by the water dispenser.

"Yeah," She replied without looking at you.

"Privately?"

"Honestly, we're just having a five minutes break. Just say whatever you want to say here."

You looked around, the girls giving you confused looks.

"Okay, um, it's just you didn't text me back when I let you know I got home safely last night, and then this morning I sent you a good morning text and asked if you need a ride here, you didn't reply back too. You've been giving me cold shoulders for a week now, did I do something to make you mad?"

Jihyo let out a sigh, "look, I've seen your messages and left them on Read, doesn't that say something? I know you got home safe and I didn't need a ride."

"Okay, then. I'm sorry if I did anything wrong. Can I come over tonight?"

"I don't think so. We're practicing until late at night."

"Oh... then text me when you get home?"

Jihyo only nodded and clapped her hands, telling the girls to get back to practice while you head back up to your office. You left feeling more confused than the night before, and hoped that Jihyo gave you cold shoulders simply because she was stressed about the comeback.

Momo eyed Jihyo from head to toe when you closed the door after you. "Hey, why are you being so mean to [Y/N]? She's your girlfriend."

"Mind your own business, Momo."

The next morning, you heard that TWICE had just arrived in the building so you quickly made your way to their practice room.

You waited all night for Jihyo's text but it never came.

Knocking a few times before entering, you see Jihyo laughing over something Jeongyeon did, but her laughter and smile was gone the moment she saw you.

"Hey," you greeted the girls and they greeted you back. Except for Jihyo.

"I didn't get your text." You said, waving your phone at Jihyo.

"For the love of God, do I need to tell you every single thing?" Jihyo raised her voice which startled everyone in the practice room.

"Hey, why are you losing your temper at [Y/N]? We all saw you nodded when [Y/N] told you to text her when you got home." Jeongyeon pushed Jihyo gently from the back.

You walked over to Jihyo, licking your lips to give them some moisture. The girls backed into the corner, leaving you and Jihyo in the middle of the practice room.

Scoffing, you said, "Look, I've been patient enough for the past week and I've had enough. You don't let me touch you, you don't let me kiss you, you used me like I'm a hooker, you don't return my texts or calls and you give me cold shoulders. I don't know what I did or what went wrong but I know that I deserve someone better than you. Someone who doesn't treat me like shit. Maybe I'm not as pretty as you, maybe I'm not as talented as you, maybe I'm not good at everything like you but I will not let you treat me like trash. Or maybe you're just tired of me. I don't know, but I'm done. Don't ever call or text me again. We're done, Park Jihyo."

You'd like to think that you saw hurt in Jihyo's eyes, and maybe, just maybe, fear too. But you didn't even want to be in the same room as Jihyo for one more second so you turned on your heels and left and you never looked back.

You don't see Jihyo breaking down in the middle of the room and the girls gathered in a group hug to comfort their broken leader.

"Why would you do that to her, Jihyo?" Nayeon wiped Jihyo's tears.

"Because she's right, she deserves someone better than me, someone who can bring her out on dates without having to hide from news reporters, someone who can show her off to the world. And I'm not that someone, so I can't be selfish and keep her to myself." Jihyo said in between sobs.

"You're a dumbass, you know that?" Jeongyeon said, while rubbing soothing circles on Jihyo's back.
