CHAPTER FIVE
ROADTRIP
"know that it's danger
know that I'm safer runnin'"
˚✧₊⁎*⁎⁺˳✧༚WHEN Shivani Caddel had accepted the invitation to hang out with Isaac Lahey she hadn't excepted for him to show up at her window late at night, soaked head to toe from the rain. Nor had she expected the question he came bearing; if he could stay at hers.
Thus far it was safe to say that it was no secret how much of an introvert Shivani really was. There were many reasons as to why— too many to get into really, but one of them remained her overwhelmingly bad habit of never saying no. Maybe it was the people pleasing tendencies she had inherited from her father, or maybe she simply liked lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Either way it all boiled down to her sneaking a werewolf through her bedroom window late at night, careful not to wake both of her sleeping parents that, for once, were home. The task in itself had been hard enough, not to mention having to juggle not getting a single drop of water on her skin on top of it all. Somehow she had managed to manoeuvre him inside unscathed. The only fork in the road had been Milton. The cat had gone feral when she caught a whiff of the werewolf. He usually didn't like strangers, but his hatred for the Lahey boy was more evident than usual. Shivani brushed it off as her cat's hatred for dogs. Isaac was just as pissed off as the cat at having to share the bedroom, but when Shivani had lectured him about being lucky she was even letting him stay the night, he smacked his mouth shut for the remainder of the night. At least about the cat.
The sleeping situation had been awkward to say the least. Shivani refused to be a good host by letting him take the bed. She had graciously enough allowed him to sleep on the floor, supplying him with blankets and pillows. Milton gloated from on top of the bed and down at the werewolf, happy that his spot in the bed remained reserved. Isaac had, begrudgingly enough, flashed his amber eyes at the cat. It had been enough for Milton to leave the room, but not before arching his back and hissing loudly. Shivani had punished Isaac by holding his two pillows hostage, claiming that he'd get them back when he learned to be a better guest. Shockingly enough, he had not only managed to convince her to give the pillows back, but to actually let him share the bed with her. Shivani blamed those damned puppy dog blue eyes of his. She only allowed it over the promise that he'd never tell a soul she agreed to any of it, let alone that it had even happened. Isaac gladly climbed into bed, happy with the arrangements.
One of the few things Shivani actually found amusing with the entire ordeal had been when she forced him out of his soaking clothes and into clothes she supplied. He had been lucky enough that she was rather tall, and that she loved oversized clothing for lounging around the house. Still, he was a slight bit taller than her, leaving the pants a tad bit tight and t shirt just a little too short. Shivani hadn't stopped laughing for a good ten minutes when he had changed into the clothes. That combined with the cow print fuzzy socks on his feet as well as the scrunchie she had forced into his soaked curls to keep them from wetting the pillows, it was just too hilarious of a sight not to die laughing.
