Background: Persephone/Kore is a goddess, Demeter's daughter by Zeus, wife of Hades, and queen of the underworld. She is a legendary hero. She met Wukong at Chang'an where she was disguised as a herbalist, after being sent away from Zeus for being disobedient when he met her, the two became quick friends and Long ago, she and Sun Wukong waged war on the Celestial Court but was subdued, leading her to go on a journey westward with several other pilgrims.
