I sighed into the dread filled air for another day of once again, scrubbing clothes i absolutely wasn't doing by choice. Once my name was called and checked into roll call, a sense of longing overtook me, longing to be free. But alas, I was trapped in a world of never ending misery. That is, until a certain stranger walked into my life.
"(Y/N)! Good morning. And I may I say you look beautiful." I slightly blushed from the sudden kind words that left Willy's smiling mouth, just as we we're practically pushed towards the entrance to the scrub house. But not before Bleacher decided he needed us elsewhere after all.
"You have some fancy words for her. Can't have no romance." I rolled my eyes with a simple huff, seeing the lightbulb practically shining brighter and brighter over Willy's head, his eyes suddenly connecting with mine in unison, our thoughts seemingly linking together. We'd been trying to distract Mrs. Scrubitt and Bleacher by paring them together. And so far, we had a feeling it could work.
"No playing down there! Get to work!" Mrs. Scrubitt suddenly yelled down to us with a lingering look of anger on her face towards Bleacher. But we could work with it.
"The sound of unrequited love...." Willy and I smiled at one another in knowing, knowing he'd take the bait. And he did just that. He was curious more than anything at what we were going on about. So we decided to put on a show, one so convincing he'd be left with thoughts of love on his own.
"You simply must woo her Bleacher! She's absolutely mad about you. She just won't be the first to admit it. So you have to. Show her a different side of you. That's what Willy did with me." I suddenly grew bold, stroking my hand across Willy's cheek with heat rising to my face from the mere sensation of his soft skin against mine, his wide eyes, but smiling face looking back at me in approval. His arms looped around my waist faster than I could comprehend, our faces mere inches apart, our breath seemingly dancing the most beautiful dance of unwavering emotion. With his hands softly stroking the small of my back, his lips boldly connected with mine, feeling like the missing puzzle piece I've searched for my entire life. Bleacher was quickly forgotten, the kiss seemingly deepening. But eventually, we pulled apart to find Bleacher looking away in clear thought, his eyes lingering where Mrs. Scrubitt typically watches us on our morning routine. We got him.
"See? Show her what you got. Let her know how you feel. Don't let it slip away." Willy's wise words and kind smile was enough to drive me absolutely wild. He'd captured my heart without even meaning to. And it seems I had captured his in return.
"That's enough! Get to work!" Bleacher smirked at us while easily pushing us to the door and closing it behind us, the two of just standing at the top of the stairs that spiraled down to the wash house. We didn't move. We didn't want to, our eyes lingering on one another in uncertainty. Before today, we didn't express our feelings, knowing it seemed rather quick. But, Willy was getting to me in so many ways that I couldn't fully comprehend. Simply because I'd never felt this before.
"Willy..."
"(Y/N)..."
We said in perfect unison, our laughter feeling the air around us. I simply kissed him once again, not caring if we were caught. I fell deeply and completely for this man, this amazing man that has seemingly changed my outlook on life rather quickly. His hands connected perfectly with my waist, our bodies pressed firmly together. And this I knew, is where I always wanted to be. With Willy.
