Lester wanted to take you on a drive. You liked spending time with him so you didn't object. It was around 20:30 when you'd left and you'd been driving for about half an hour.

"Hey, baby," Lester began to speak, glancing at you before looking to the road.

"Hm?" You hummed, staring out your window. The trees zipped by quickly and you were starting to gain a headache.

"I founda cool spot the other day while drivin'. Ya wanna see it?" He asked. You looked over to see him smiling.

"Sure." You smiled back, again looking out your window.

He drove for a little while longer before slowing to a stop. You looked to see a small lake.

"It's pretty, ain't it?" Lester gave you his crooked smile. You nodded.

"Very." You opened your door and stepped out, closing it behind you.

The water was a dark and murky blue. A small clump of moss floated atop the blue liquid farthest from you two. Salvinia had already begun to invade the lovely waters. Fireflies began to blink in the trees and fly towards the lake. It was a beautiful night and a captivating environment. Thankfully, it was far enough away from a city that you could see each and every star. The galaxy was making a grand entrance as well.

"Wow..." You muttered as you took in your surroundings. The one thing you'd never gotten bored of after being with Lester: the performance of nature.

The symphony of music from the crickets, birds, frogs, leaves, and the light show from the moon, stars, fireflies, shiny stones, the water's top, and the art of the now Cresent moon, blinking bright white stars, the milkyway stretching across the sky—it was all so familiar yet so new.

Lester stood beside you and slipped his hand into yours, intertwining your fingers. He leaned his head onto your shoulder as he stayed quiet. No other words were exchanged between you for a long period of time, just enjoying the moment. You looked down/up at him and smiled. You were glad you were able to spend this time with him. You were happy having the simple things in life, your date nights with Lester not being all fancy and hoity-toity [rich]. You liked that Lester felt the same way that you do about the dates. Before you'd gotten with him, you'd lived in the city. It was too busy for you and too much work. Living out in the middle of nowhere was a vast—but welcome—change from what you were used to. Your parents protested for weeks about you going with him, but in the end, you moved out with your current boyfriend.

"You alright, Luna moth?" You were pulled from your small trance by Lester's voice. He liked to surprise you with different nicknames.

"Oh, yeah, I'm good." You smiled and kissed his cheek. His face reddened and he looked away.

"Um, if you want to look at the stars, I cleaned the back of the truck. We can lay there."

"That sounds great." You replied and he quickly pulled you to the back of his truck. He helped you up and hopped up after you. You sat down, soon laying on your back as you watched him. He grabbed a blanket from a small pile and dropped it on you. You thanked him as you wrapped the blanket around your body. He quickly joined you on the floor and cuddled next to you. You placed your arm under his head and laid your hand on his shoulder. You glanced at him and could see a small grin on his face. He wrapped his arms around your waist and gazed up at the night sky.

You looked back to the sky, its beautiful artistry. You could never get sick of it. You could never get sick of this. Being curled up in a warm blanket with your boyfriend beside you and nature surrounding you.

Lester let out a content sigh and you turned your head to look at him. His eyes were closed and he looked asleep. You smiled and pulled him closer to you. He cuddled his face into your shoulder and began to snore. He looked adorable.

A chilly breeze blew past and you shivered. You pulled the blanket tighter around you both but it was still cold. With a sigh, you slowly sat up—your arm still around Lester—and shuffled out of the metal bed. You grabbed your boyfriend and picked him up into your arm. You walked around the side of the truck and opened the door. You gently placed him on the seat and walked to the back of the truck. You grabbed the blanket you were previously using and walked to the open door. You wrapped him in the blanket and climbed inside. You laid down on the seat and pulled Lester on top of you. His head rested on your chest and you brushed your hand over his head, feeling his hair.

After a short while, you began to doze off. Your eyelids had became heavy and you were laying in the position for so long. You closed your eyes and drifted off, the warmth of your lover enveloping you.

This one was kind of short, my apologies.
I'm trying to work on other things and I wanted to finish this so I could publish something instead of disappearing for a month.
This week is spring break and I'll be at my mom's house, so hopefully I'll be able to work on more work there.

Love yall, have a good day :)
