Soojin slowly walked down the stairs, complete silence reigned in her head, her mind went blank as soon as she left the storage room. She could hear distant small voices coming from the lobby of the building, so her legs were in that direction. Her classmates were already waiting for the arrival of the group, which had lost another person for an unknown reason.
Her slowly walking figure was noticed only by her friends, who immediately approached her and put their arms around her shoulders. They didn't say anything, just looked at each other and then fixed their eyes on the doors through which the group entered.
Of course, everyone was immediately bombarded with questions, dirty and tired guys staring at the floor, and having no idea how to explain Don Hyun's death. Kyung-jun was the most angry and frustrated, his venomous questions flying out of his mouth like bullets, piercing the head of the class president.
"Why are you yelling? Give them time," Soojin said in a calm voice, of course, there was a taste of irritation in her voice. All eyes were on her, her words certainly hurt the guy.
"A what? Do you even know what kind of situation we're in, stupid?" shouted Kyung Jun, burning a hole in the face of the girl who was looking at him with a sly look. Of course, her body didn't show how annoyed she was.
"Idiot. We've got a man dead and you're still screaming like a piece of shit. Give them time to explain. How would you behave in their place after the death of a friend?" With each word that came out of her mouth, the volume of her voice increased, piercing the silence that had arisen as they began to talk.
Kyung Jun took threatening steps forward until he was stopped by his friends, "What did you call me? Repeat"
Soojin clicked her tongue loudly, getting even more irritated. The grip on her shoulders intensified, apparently her friends didn't want her to fight with the guy.
"I said you are piece of shit!"
As the tension between them got worse and worse, their attention would finally tear away from each other when they heard a familiar voice. Somi, who was standing and staring at the floor, began to talk about the boy's death, with a trembling voice.
That was enough for Soojin. She found out why Don Hyun had died, so she left, feeling anger slowly filling her body - he had died by slipping on the ground.
Her choice of whom to check fell on a bully of the class, who behaved quite aggressively and short-tempered, which began to increase her suspicions. Yes, they were all afraid of dying, and stuff like that. But at least they didn't yell at those who had just come with the sad news.
Taking her phone, she began to turn around. She was standing in the hallway where there wasn't a single soul. Her back against the wall, and she finally turned on her phone. Her fingers slowly but surely flipped through the icons with photos of her classmates.
CHO SOOJIN, DO YOU WANT TO USE YOUR ABILITIES ON GO KYUNG JUN?
GO KYUNG JUN IS A CITIZEN.
"Fuck. What the shit?" she whispered, opening her eyes wide and not believing the caption under the boy's photo. She hadn't expected it.
Confused and lost, the girl turned off her phone and put it in her skirt pocket. Her eyes slowly closed in exhaustion, the back of her head clinging comfortably to the wall, sending shivers of cold through her body.
"I screwed up. I can't act on emotions in dangerous situations..." She whispered, clenching her hands into fists, with such force that it created small crescent-shaped scars.
