 THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

I was so nervous hearing the loud sound of the DJ and his songs. With just another step, I officially entered the party.

Tonight was the night...

OF OUR COMPANY'S BUSINESS SUCCESS PARTY!!!

I was so nervous even with my new look.  Apparently, Dohyeon and Minji were going together, which made me feel a little jealous.  My life mission is for Dohyeon and me to be together, but...- so far it's not going peachy.

Especially with Minji being evil and using her stupid dark magic.

I tried to shake off my nervousness and make my way to the bar. As I was waiting for my drink, I overheard a group of colleagues talking about Dohyeon and Minji.

"She's so clingy. I don't know how Dohyeon can stand her," one of them said.

"I heard the only reason she got in is because of her connections," another added.

Just then, Dohyeon approached me with a warm hello. "Oh...Miss. Lim, you made it," he said casually.

I couldn't help but feel a little flustered. "Yeah, I made it," I said, trying to play it cool.

As I made my way to the dance floor, I couldn't help but feel a little jealous seeing Dohyeon dancing with Minji. But I tried to push those feelings aside and focus on having fun.

Minji started dancing and stared at me.

Suddenly, Minji yelled at everyone, including Dohyeon, to clear the dance floor.

" I'M DANCING MY SOLO FOR THIS SONG!!!  AND I CHALLENGE YOU, HARIN LIM!" Minji yelled at me.  Everyone stared at me.

I froze in my spot, feeling all eyes on me. "What? I..." I stammered, not sure what Minji was getting at.

Dohyeon stepped in, his expression stern. "Minji, that's enough. Stop trying to provoke Harin," he said firmly.

Minji just laughed. "Oh, come on, Dohyeon. Where's your sense of fun? Or are you just afraid she can't handle it?" she taunted.

I could feel my face getting hot with anger, but I tried to keep my composure. "I can handle it just fine," I said, stepping forward to accept Minji's challenge.

Dohyeon put a hand on my shoulder, looking at me seriously. "Harin, you don't have to do this. Let's just enjoy the party," he said, his voice low.

But I was determined not to back down. "No, Dohyeon. I can't let her get away with this," I said, brushing off his hand and stepping onto the dance floor.

Minji smirked, her eyes glinting with malice. "Let's see what you've got, then," she said, as the music started up again.

I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins as I started to dance. The crowd cheered as we moved to the beat, my eyes locked with Minji's.

As we danced, I could see Minji trying to throw me off with her moves, but I stayed focused and kept up with her. The music grew louder and more intense, and we both pushed ourselves to the limit.  As the music ended, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause. I was panting, my heart racing with excitement and triumph.

As the night wore on, I couldn't help but feel grateful to have Dohyeon by my side. He may have been stern, but he always had my back when it mattered most.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed in my pocket. It was a message from the witch. "You have only one lifetime left. Remember your mission," it read.  What the-

Since when did the old witch know my Instagram account?  Better yet, how does she even know what social media is???

As Dohyeon and I continued to have a pretty good conversation, the party around us was in full swing. People were dancing, laughing, and enjoying themselves.  Suddenly, the music stopped, and the lights went out. Everyone gasped, wondering what was going on.

And then, a spotlight shone on Minji, who was standing at the center of the dance floor.

"Attention, everyone! I have an announcement to make!" she said, her voice ringing out clear and loud.  The crowd fell silent, waiting to hear what she had to say.

"Hey there, Dohyeon. I'm not one to beat around the bush, so let's get straight to the point. I've been thinking, and I've decided that you and I would make a killer power couple. So, how about we skip all the dating nonsense and just tie the knot? You know, make it official. Plus, let's be real, you wouldn't want to miss out on all this," Minji says, gesturing to herself with a smirk. "So, what do you say? Will you make me the luckiest girl in the world and marry me?"  I couldn't help but feel anxious as Minji made her proposal. I kept my face neutral, but my heart was racing.

As Dohyeon rejected Minji's proposal, I saw a flicker of something in his gaze. Hope. But he quickly composed himself and calmly rejected her. I tried to keep my expression neutral, not wanting to betray any hint of my feelings.  As the party continued, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was brewing beneath the surface. I kept my eyes peeled for Minji, but she seemed to have disappeared.  I noticed a figure lurking in the shadows as I looked around the dark room. My heart raced as I realized it was Minji. She was staring at Dohyeon, a sinister smile on her face.. What was she up to now?  Suddenly, the lights flickered back on, and we were all blinded for a moment. When our eyes adjusted, we saw that Dohyeon was on the floor, writhing in pain. "Dohyeon!" I cried out, rushing to his side.

"What's going on? Is he okay?" I asked, my voice shaking. Dohyeon's face was contorted in agony, and he was gasping for breath.

Minji stepped forward, a smug look on her face. "Don't worry, Harin. He's just having a little allergic reaction," she said sweetly. "It's nothing serious, really. He'll be fine in a few minutes."

I glared at her, my fists clenched. "What did you do to him?" I demanded.

Minji just smiled. "Oh, nothing much. Just a little something to help him relax," she said, her eyes glinting with malice.

I was about to confront her again when the witch's voice suddenly echoed in my mind. "Remember your mission, Harin," she said. "You only have one lifetime left!"

I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I couldn't let Minji get the best of me. I had to stay focused on my mission.

Just then, Dohyeon's eyes fluttered open, and he sat up, looking dazed. "What happened?" he asked, his voice weak.

"You had an allergic reaction," Minji said innocently, helping him to his feet. "But don't worry, you'll be fine. Let's get you some fresh air."

As they walked away, I felt a surge of anger. How dare she manipulate him like that? But I had to keep my cool. I couldn't let her get the best of me.

But then, just as the party was winding down, I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Minji.

"Harin, there's something I need to tell you," she said, her voice low.

I glared at her. "What could you possibly have to say to me?" I spat.

Minji just smiled. "I just wanted you to know that I'm not going to give up on Dohyeon," she said sweetly. "No matter how hard you try, you'll never be able to win him over. He's mine, Harin. And there's nothing you can do to change that."

I felt a surge of anger and frustration. How could she be so cruel? But I tried to stay calm.

"Is that all you wanted to say?" I asked, my voice icy.

Minji just laughed. "Oh, Harin. You have no idea what's coming," she said, walking away with a sinister smile, " You think your little glow-up is going to change EVERYTHING?  Hah!"
